My other half can’t even boil water. He is not aloud in the kitchen for fear he will burn it down. I do all the cooking. If it is his night he just takes me out to eat. Which is the best choice because no one wants to eat what he made, I would be scared.

@sailor: Some of us enjoy being the quintessential housewife-in-the-kitchen. Preparing food for him equals an act of love for me. If he expected it or didn’t appreciate it, I would probably feel differently. I love that he hangs out with me in the kitchen even if he doesn’t have much ability. He’ll come up with recipes for us (i.e. me) to try and actively participate (i.e. “Sweetheart, what can I do?).

My husband is the only one who cooks. He always has been. I clean up afterwards, it just works for us 🙂

My fiancee likes to cook but is really bad at it. He thinks that spices make everything taste okay so he uses like mexican spices in thai food..wtf.
He is a pizza master though.

He cooks daily, and he’s good at making just about anything. He didn’t cook before me though. Health is very important to me and he’s gotten into healthy food also.
@sailor: totally agree, very unattractive

When we have time to be home together he does. Everything he makes is super yummy. I do the baking and sometime I cook. I am getting better at it but I used to burn literally everything. Haha.

@Serey: My man does 85% of the cooking. Okay, maybe 95% of the cooking. A better question would be to ask him if his wife cooks 😛

@sailor: I would find it unattractive too. I don’t mind doing the cooking (he prefers to, he is better at it), but if he were actually incapable or just too lazy to pitch in…not cool. I am not here to do your laundry, make your meals, and act like your mother. It’s a partnership. Whenever he cooks, I clean up and vice versa.

Mr. Runningcali is an exceptional grillmaster. Kebabs, steaks, you name it. He’s good at it. Right down to the marinading.
He also makes a mean “big breakfast” – pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon.
He will cook if I ask him to.
He also makes really good salsa and he swears he makes great cheesecake, but like a lot of you, I’ve never had said cheesecake. I love him.

No. My Fiance s capable of burning tea .. when I met him all he could do was make spagheti – bol the past, dump the jar sauce on it. He’d put poppy seeds in it too, thinking they are spices meant for that stuff … he fought me for a long time when I tried to convince him that no, you dont put poppy seeds into pasta sauce ..

Yes! My Darling Husband cooks far more frequently than I do. My favorite meal that he makes is Thanksgiving dinner! He creates quite the feast! He also makes amazing omelettes and has his own delicious recipe for burgers. 🙂

He cooks about once or twice a week! I love his food! 🙂

I cook most of the time, because I love to cook and try all kinds of new recipes, even make up some of my own. But my husband has a few special dishes he’s great at, and he’s very good on the grill (yum, making me hungry thinking about it). He cleans up or we clean up together. Food is extremely important to us!

Ha! Darling Husband can’t even boil water without asking me if he did it right. How he made it this far in life without me, I will never understand.

FI’s a great cook. He took over kitchen duty at our house when I became the breadwinner and now he’s really good. 🙂
