Nope, never. But I did have a friend in high school who had it done.

@WillyNilly:  Uhhh it was at least like 10 years ago. She thought it was totally normal too until she saw how horrified the rest of us were lol.

A few years after I started getting PAPs done my doctor told me I should have one done. So she did it. I’ve changed doctors 3 times since then (not because of that) but have never had it done since. I also always see a nurse practitioner so I think maybe that was why she did it. They tend to be a little more thourough and cautious.

I had a doctor do it during an annual exam in college; there was no warning, so let’s say I was surprised.  Thank goodness I never had to go back to that doc!  Have never had it done since.

I’ve never had it done, and I’ve been getting pelvic exams every year for the last 11 years.  Can anyone explain to me why in the world they would do that?

Yes, and it’s important to have done.

@WillyNilly:  Even if it was to make sure you were healthy? A healthy colon is a healthy body. I’m not saying people need to shove fists into your bum, but when it comes to your health, can you really set limits? I mean, I hate needles and all, but if someone needs to stick me to make sure I’m healthy and will stay healthy, I’ll swallow my panic (Although I turn white as a ghost, apparently) and suffer through.
