I love reading all these stories of e-rings that have been passed through the family, but did anyone else inherit their wedding band instead? My band was my grandmother’s, and before that her godmother (we think- we have partial initials in the band for the first wearer, but only oral history to tell us who those initials actually belong to). It’s wider than I would have chosen, but the carvings are amazing. Plus I love the sentimentality of having an e-ring picked out by my fiance but a band passed through the family.

That’s enchanting! As a historian, I absolutely LOVE it when I see rings passed on in families! How wonderful! Congrats to you hen. xx

I have my grandmother’s e-ring (which we are using) and I also have the matching wedding band that goes with it. I don’t think we are going to use the band as I don’t really care for it, but I do have it.

My Fiance inherited my wedding band from his great-grandmother! Engagement Ring is designed to match it, stone from an old ring of his grandma’s. That was the part of the proposal that made me cry – the family connection – when he started telling me about it 🙂
