i’ll Play! I love playing with my Moms ring! My Dad offered her an upgrade but she said no. Mine is top 1.25 center J VS2. My Moms is below- I think 1/5 ct. Grandmas is below hers and grandpas wedding band beside them

My family all have pretty similar tastes! Mine has the channel set princess diamonds, then it’s my great grandmothers ring, my gran’s ring and my mum’s ring all down the female line. All yellow gold trilogy diamonds. I own mine and my gran’s rings, and my mum had hers and her gran’s.

My dad’s mum’s ring I believe is with my aunt, but it was also a similar design

ukbea :  wow! How crazy that they are all so similar, that’s so cool. And I LOVE the tapered bands with the trilogy, I don’t think I’ve seen that before. Beautiful!

My mom has a .25 ct diamond on a wide engraved yellow gold band with a matching wedding band, and she didn’t wear either until she got married. But she found out soon after that she’s actually allergic to 10k gold. So for a long time she just never wore any ring. Now she wears a stack of 3 emerald and sapphire 1/2 eternity bands in platinum.

My grandmother doesn’t have an engagement ring, she just has a white gold band with 5 baguette diamonds.

My other grandmother wears an engraved platinum band, no e-ring.

I’m actually the first to receive a typical engagement ring along with a proposal. My mom and grandmothers decided along with their husbands that they were going to get married, and got married. My e-ring is a 1.5ct equivalent moissanite, set in palladium.

All the ones who have diamonds have round brilliant solitaires, which is nice ๐Ÿ™‚ I wanted to keep the tradition going! However, mine is substantially larger than theirs – my mom’s mother has only 0.1 carat, my dad’s mom doesn’t even have a diamond, my mom’s is around 0.3 carat, and mine is 1.1 carat. But all of the rings are so special and beeautiful!

My grandmother has a 4.76ct, and 3 1ct diamonds. They were all put onto the same ring. Her first marriage was a sapphire and emerald modest 0.4 center ballerina/halo setting.

My mother had a ruby ring. Maybe a combined 1.2cts of small stones.

I have a 1.7ishct, and am hoping to reset the stone with some rarer gemstones with my grandmother’s jeweler sometime next year.

I want to go get pics now! My mum and grandma both have yellow gold, three stone rings, and I have a white gold solitaire with pave. I feel like maybe mine is a ‘trendy’ ring and theirs will stand the test of time. But I still love my ring.

Both my grandmother and my mother proposed themselves to their partners (my grandfather and dad), on 29th February, so they don’t have e-rings.

I wanted to follow tradition and propose on leap year of 2016, I had a plan and everything, but my husband beat me to it in November 2015. I have a 0.7ct Round Brilliant solitaire, rose gold.

My grandma’s was a large cluster of garnets and opals in a diamond shape. I have it now, but I don’t wear it because the garnets are starting to fall out.

My Mum’s first engagement ring was a small diamond with a halo of dark blue sapphires, on a really high setting. For her second marriage, she has a ruby with two diamonds on either side, which look like leaves.

Mine is a fairly chunky square peridot, with a diamond halo.

We all had very different styles, but none were particularly traditional!

No idea about my grandmothers but my mum’s engagement ring was a small sapphire with two small diamonds on 9ct gold. Back in 1979 that was about all my dad could afford. Her wedding ring is 24ct gold though. She obviously still wears the wedding ring but not her engagement ring. My dad has been able to get her nicer ones since.

I have a princess cut diamond halo in white gold so nothing like

Well my parents were young and poor, but my mom had a dual purpose little diamond eternity ring, my father had his grandfather’s  ring.

With her second marriage, she had a yellow gold vintage set with diamond chips from a pawnshop. I seem to remember  she said it was like $100.

My first wedding I had a nice white gold n diamond set, this time a moissanite  solitaire

My grandmother never wore any from what I can recall, they were farmy people.
