I saw the post regarding the Destination Wedding and the # of guests that came vs. the # that were invited.
What about non destination weddings? I am 36 days away from our wedding and maybe half the guests have RSVP’d so far. It makes me wonder what our final # will be. I know alot of people wait until last minute to RSVP so it is hard to say. But our cut off date is Feb 8, 2014 so they better hurry up lol
So how many guests did you invite and how many actually showed?

@CarterLove: we had a guestlist of 220 and we ended up with 167! (thank God bc we didn’t realize how many people we over invited!!!)
We had a 24% decline rate, which we were very happy about! We invited 260 and 198 showed 🙂

@Daizy914: I can’t lie… I am sort of hoping for the same thing to happen LOL Don’t get me wrong, we love our guests and invited them becuase we want them there lol But if we end up with a little less (we’ve invited 150 to the reception) I won’t be offended lol

We invited 300 people and had 200 come. Obviously we were sad that some people couldn’t make it but we were able to upgrade quite a few things at our venue for the ones who did make it.

@CarterLove: trust me, i know the feeling!!! lol

We invited 140 and had 20 declines, but most of those were people’s +1s. Of the actual guests we would have invited if they weren’t someone’s SO or date, we only had 3 declines (DHs cousin who we never see, my step-grandparents who declined due to health issues, and my 90 year old extended family member).

I can’t confirm for another 3 weeks, but I know our RSVP response rate. We invited 188 and 155 are attending.
We have our final counts at 94 invited and 65 attending. So a 31% decline. But that’s not for absolute sure since there’s still 3 weeks til my wedding (AH!)

we have invited 118 inlcuding +1s and children. We’re expecting about 75. So far I’ve had 4 adults and 2 children tell me they can’t make it (and invites aren’t even out yet). There are 2 other adults that are highly unlikely and another 2 that sent me a Christmas card that implies they won’t be coming.
So far, I’m not feeling great about our numbers – might have to make a B list!
We invited 170 and got 120 – a bit fewer than we expected, but also a bit cheaper than we expected 🙂
Post # 13
We invited around 160 and got about 116 – we were hoping for no more than 125, so it worked out well.
So it sounds like usually there are quite a few less than expected. I hope our 150 ends up being a little less as well. Not so much for cost but a smaller group will make me feel less nervous lol

@Daizy914: oh my gosh, that’s about how many we invited- I’d love to get no more than 167!!

We have 340 on the guest list. Invites won’t go out until April, with a May 7th RSVP date. However, 217 of 340 live 250 miles away or further. By further, I mean half the country away. We are planning on somewhere between 150-200 actually showing up. I guess time will tell!
