7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Harmony of the Seas with Royal Caribbean that stops in Puerto Rico, Haiti and St Thomas. Had four international trips in the last year either all-inclusive or resort hotel and wanted to try something different. Total with upgraded room and Jetblue Mint suite flights was $4326. Super excited! Keep watching YouTube videos of the ship. 😄

We paid about 10-11K for 15 days in Italy. We went to Lake Como, Venice, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Worth every penny!

sqldudette :  Can you do a rundown of your honeymoon?  My Darling Husband and I are looking to go to Japan for that price range and for that amount of time.  What time of year did you go, what cities, what activities?  Thanks!

We spent around 8k for 2 weeks in the DR.  It is now my happy place 4 years later.  We’ve not been on a big trip since.  Hoping to go to Jamaica next year for our 5 year anniversary.  We’re also planning a trip to Japan, so trying to figure out how we can afford both in one year!!!

This is a tricky question.

We had a 5 week vacation and got married in the middle while overseas… Soo, I guess the entire vacation could be considered our honeymoon..? Most of the expenses were merged (small wedding + vacation) but if I had to estimate and remove the wedding day costs we probably spent about $15,000 on flights, hotels, food, shopping, partying, alcohol etc. We went to Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima) followed by the USA (Los Angeles, Las Vegas [wedding spot], Death Valley, Yosemite, San Francisco).

Our wedding costs were probably about $5,000 for the day.

$4.5k for 4nights. We had no choice, Darling Husband couldn’t get an extended break from work.

Our wedding was about $25k

Our wedding isn’t until next October but we’re high balling it at $7500 (Canadian) which includes 3 days in Las Vegas, then a 7 night cruise along the California coast. We’re planning on using airmiles to cover part of it.

We went to London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin for a total of 12 days and we spent just under $5,000.

loveisbrewing :  Wow how did you do that? What a great deal!

We spent around $4k to go to Banff, Canada for a week. Flights were around $450 each.  We ate very nice places and did several expensive activities like a helicopter ride and dog sledding. Going in the off season made flights & hotels cheaper so we could spend more for food and activities.

Our round trip flights to London were about $650 each- just watched the prices for a few months and bought when they seemed low.  We stayed in air bnb’s rather than hotels which turned out awesome and most of the time we had our own kitchens and everything so we could buy stuff from the grocery store and eat in sometimes rather than eat out for every meal.  Made sure we used cards that didn’t have any foreign transaction fees.  For getting between the different cities we just researched the fastest/cheapest ways, sometimes it was train, sometimes flights.  Researched free things to- there are a lot of free tour companies in major cities that were excellent for us, you just tip them (usually we did 20 euros for both of us) at the end. London especially has a ton of free museums.  We used uber or public transit/walking to get around once we were in the cities, made sure our air bnb’s were conveniently located to things we wanted to do.  I think what really saved the most money was doing everything ourselves rather than one of those pre-planned tour companies.  Added to the adventure as well 🙂
