1x week and they get washed in hot water. We always shower before bed but I am a serious clean freak. The thought of waiting longer than a week- no way.

I try to do it every Sunday. But sometimes I get lazy and it goes another week. But no more than 2 weeks.

And it’s totally my job. If I left it to Fiance we would have the same sheets on the bed for months which I cannot abide.

Once a week for the sheets, twice a week for pillowcases.  I have super sensitive skin so clean bedding is a must, otherwise I get itchy.

I really want to wash them once a week, but yeah, that never happens. More like every three or four weeks.

@mamadingdong:  I understand that.  My comments were more towards the people that imply they could, they just don’t.

Not nearly often enough. Probably every 4 to 6 weeks. Embarassed

We don’t have a washer/dryer, or convenient access to a decent laundromat, plus we both have busy schedules, so I have about a 2.5-hour window once a week to wash ALL of our laundry that’s accumulated over the last 7 days. We both workout a lot so we each wear at least 2 outfits per day, then you add in pajamas, towels, sheets, etc. It is HARD to try to get that many loads done in such a short timeframe, so it’s usually the sheets that don’t get done, unless they’re very obviously dirty. I try and make it a point at least once a month to skip a load of clothes and wash the sheets, but sometimes having clean underwear and socks wins out. Eh. We’ll be registering for a couple sheet sets…

@DeathByDesign:  I love staying at hotels where they change your sheets everyday mmmm….

I do too! Love that! But have you seen those programs where they show that hotels only wash the blankets/comforters once a year, if that? Money Mouth Ever sense I saw that, I never use the blankets there – I rip those suckers off the bed and ball them up in a wad in the corner ASAP. Yuck!

@GFerg:  I’ve been staying at some really nice hotels. For the price they charge per night, they don’t do something like that…….. I hope. >_>

@DeathByDesign:  ha! I hope so too! But this show (20/20 or 60 minutes or something) also took a black light into hotel rooms to show you all of the “other stuff” that is found. And they went to hotels from cheapies to high dollar and everything in between.

😉 Gross, I know! That show ruined hotels for me! haha

    TO @GFerg:  re – Hotels & Comforters

Check out the Hampton Inn chain (owned by Hilton)… they advertise… and based on our experiences as well… change the Duvet Covers for each & every customer.  Definitely calms the heebie-jeebies for us.

Any other Hotel, and I am like you… stripping the bed down to the sheets which I know are clean / changed for each guest.

    Hope this helps,

    TO @ShiftedLobster:  you said,

Someone should start a poll on how often people wash their comforters/quilts.

Go ahead sounds like a great idea…

3 Seasons we have a Down Duvet on our Bed, enveloped inside a Duvet Cover.  We only several Duvet Covers, and they get changed aprox 1x per month.

The Down Duvet itself, gets sent to the Drycleaner in the summertime when it is off the bed.

We have a blanket on the bed in the summertime, and add it into the mix in January as extra warmth.  It gets washed 1x a month.

As do the Pillow Case Covers / Protectors and the Feather Bed Cover… we do them at the same time that we flip / rotate the mattress.

Mr TTR doesn’t like it one little bit when it is the major overhaul the bed day… he sees all that as too much work… LOL

Altho he is the first one to say (and tell people) how great our bed is… before me, he had no idea how great one’s sleep could be in a well organized / outfitted bed.  Our bed is just about as good now as any highend Hotel we’ve ever been too… super comfy and gorgeous bedding.

We wash the sheets weekly since our cats sleeps with us (and she sleeps on the bed when we aren’t home – lazy cat!)
