@LGenz:  oh yes, I had at least one to two Lauren’s in my class every year.

My name was #33 in my birth year. I didn’t meet someone else with my name until I was in middle school.

Mine was #275 the year I was born. I like unique names. Though it’s gotten more popular lately.

@misspeanut:  Ditto!

@StL.Ashley:  Your parents aren’t so creative because I was named after the same guy! It was my grandma’s idea… I should probably watch that movie some day.

80’s Ashley’s = total name fail. I went by my last name in sports in high school because if they yelled Ashley, like 5 people turned their heads.

Mine doesn’t even make the top 1000 for any year.

According to the stats, it currently sits at about 70,000th most popular and 4 babies a year are given my name. I have never actually met anyone with my name, but have heard of others.

But I like it 🙂

@GroovyHippieChick:  I feel your pain. I would occasionally see the more common spelling of my name on a kid size license plate/keychain/mug/pencil case, but never my actual spelling. I has a sad.

@MrsCarnival:  I always had the opposite issue. There were never any of my name left. 🙁 There are two spellings and mine is the more traditional one, so there was ALWAYS the wrong spelling stuff left, but never mine!

mine was very popular.  there were 3 of us all through elementary school and we were all friends.  then in grade 9 homeroom there were 5 of us (4 different spellings).

@chasesgirl:  Looks like both of us should shoot for a name somewhere in the middle!

Mine was #21 the year I was born.  I was the only “Michelle” I knew until I hit high school; then there were 2 of us.

ETA – Just looked up DH’s name; his was #523 the year he was born.  Pretty unique.

My name was apparently #52 the year I was born. Though, it hardly ever appears in the personalized stuff and I’ve only known a couple others throughout my life with my name. It’s my grandma’s name, so that’s why it is what it is!

Different sites have different rankings, but definitely in the top 5!  It is classic though, so I am OK with the popularity.

I have never seen DH’s name as a first name, except in his family.  I can’t find it on any charts.
