Makemeamrs: While I agree with your comments about ring and proposal disappointment, I do think you can be excited to be getting married but dislike the wedding planning process. I mean, I am thrilled to be getting married, but planning isn’t my cup of tea. I thought it would be fun, but we have to travel to do our planning (just an hour away, but still takes up a full day or an overnight), and I’m currently in grad school so don’t have a lot of free time. I honestly wish we could just have a tiny ceremony or elope, but we have stupidly big families that I know really want to be there (and we want to celebrate with), so we’re stuck planning a big wedding.
So, although I’m not too psyched about planning, I absolutely can’t wait to start our married lives together. There’s so much to look forward too!

I am SO excited! I still have a year and a half of waiting, and I think it’s worse than when I was waiting for the proposal!
Haha, it’s like when you put a treat on a dogs nose and tell him to wait and he gives you those eyes.
It will all get very real when we put down our deposits on the social hall and the reception venue.

Makemeamrs: Thank you for starting this thread! With all of the downer posts it is so nice to see bees that are happy and excited. Congratulations everyone!!!
I am super excited to be getting married!!! My e-ring is in production so I’m nervous and excited about (finally) getting it soon. The only part that is less than thrilling for me is the actual wedding planning. Fiance works full time and also attends university. I am a full time grad student. The planning process is so time-consuming and honestly it feels like more time than we have. Fiance is warming up to the idea of eloping instead of continuing with the wedding we’re planning so that possibility has me excited too. We were looking online at different destination and elopement packages and he liked several of them. All in all the greatest part of all of this is getting closer to committing forever to my very best friend- the joy and excitement of that fact is better than anything else.

I am SO excited to get married to my Fiance. I love him to pieces, we have been together over 4 years and its been amazing. I trust him so much and am so happy that no matter what chaos the wedding planning process throws at us I have him waiting for me at the end of it!
(But im also just really happy about life this week because I passed the CA bar – woohoo my Fiance isn’t getting married to a bum lol)

Makemeamrs: i agree!!! You got to appreciate what got and what you get. Hoping for bigger and better, a. is selfish b. you are only asking for disappointment.

I am insanely excited to be getting married! We’re having a long engagement so I’m actually having to rein myself in on some of my excitement (ie picking out a dress now would not be a good idea, but I want to SO badly!). I can’t wait to celebrate with my love and our family/friends, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!

I am over the moon excited to get married and finally be able to call the man I’ve loved for the past 8 years my husband! I’d do it tomorrow if I could! I am excited for the wedding reception and all that, but I’m the most excited for the ceremony and to finally be married!

Makemeamrs: I was so excited about marrying my now-husband.
And now I’m so excited to be going on our honeymoon at the end of the week!

Makemeamrs: I am super excited! Partly because my Fiance and I have been in an LDR for the past 1.5 years and we both cannot wait to be in the same place! We miss each other so much and dream of the day that we will be together. I sound like I’m swooning, but the closer we get to the end of being long distance, the harder it is.

Makemeamrs: For most of the process I was one of the bees chiming in about not being excited about the whole thing, but as it’s gotten closer and things are really starting to come together I’ve become more and more excited. Now I can’t wait! I think the excitement level can vary depending on the time and other surrounding life factors.

I’m very excited to marry my partner! I am happy with my ring, I think our day will be beautiful and more importantly, our life together will be beautiful. Sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down in the planning and particulars, but at the end of it all I know what’s important.

I’m super excited to be Mrs FI! I think the future will be fantastic, and the planning is going well on top of it, so all ’round everything’s exciting! lol

mildlybookish: Yes, this is me too! My Fiance and I have been in a LDR for about 3 1/2 years and we are both so ready for that to be over. It gets harder and harder every time we have to part ways after a visit to say good-bye.
I know marriage isn’t always conducive to living in the same place, but I feel like the commitment of an engagement really made us dedicated to putting out a plan to do so.
