After posting in another thread about a white dress I wore to a wedding I wanted to find out how many Bee’s would have been upset at this sort of outfit choice. It’s clearly white but with such a bold print I feel its ok as it would never be mistaken for a bridal gown. What do you Bees think? Is this sort of dress acceptable or should white never ever be worn to weddings?

@FauxBoho: I can’t see the pic, but I voted it’s fine to wear because I don’t care what other people wear at my wedding. I never have, and never will be, the fashion police.
EDIT: Oh I see it now, that’s a pretty dress, but definitely fine IMO. It’s not even close to anything bridal.

My Future Mother-In-Law is wearing this dress to my wedding:
The off white color might offend some brides but I really dont care. The only things that bothers me a little bit is that it is more than I spent on my wedding dress!

Yes absolutely. I once completely stressed myself out about wearing a floral printed dress that had the littlest bit of white background. Not only was it not an issue, but I got compliments from the bride and her mother! Unless you’re wearing an all white dress in some sort of bridal material, I wouldn’t sweat it.

Totally fine. There’s a difference between a printed dress with a white background and a white dress.
It was hot and we married outdoors. Quite a few of the ladies wore sundresses with white backgrounds. I ain’t mad.

Can the ladies voting No! (you fool!) please comment as to why this is not ok?

I still don’t think that dress is white! I think only an all-white dress would be a problem. Personally, I wouldn’t be offended if someone wore an all-white dress, just confused about why they would do that since it’s pretty common knowledge that you’re not supposed to ….
But back on topic: that dress is 100% okay to me. It’s a graphic dress, not a white dress.

I voted “No”. I actually think the print is fine, but it’s that it has so much white AND that it is floor-length that made me say no. The bottom skirt part has a LOT of white in it, and i think the floor-length makes it a little bit sketchy to wear to a wedding.
I would have said yes if it was knee-length.
