Met my Fiance on Plenty of Fish in October 2010.  Had an amazing 11 hour first date.  Moved in together with his 12-year-old son in September 2011.  Got engaged December 2011.  Wedding planned for October 2014.

I met Fiance on EHarmony.  He was my very first match.  I wasn’t planning on joining, and had only filled out a profile to try to get my sister on the website.  Fiance kept trying to contact me, but I wasn’t ready to make the payment commitment, but I kept talking about his profile to my family.  Finally, EHarmony did a Free Communication weekend, and I contacted him.  Turns out he works with my best friend! We had an awesome first date and have pretty much been inseparable ever since.  Getting married next Friday!

I met my SO on match. He is the BEST ever! I actually joined match because I was bored one night and didn’t pay for it initially. Then, I got a notification that I had some e-mails waiting and I was way too curious so I paid the $40 for one month and opened them. Bunch of duds! A few days later I got a message from SO and decided to respond because he was so sweet. We chatted online for about a month before ever meeting face to face, becasue I was so nervous about him possibly being some creep-o stalked killer dude. Yeah, paranoia girl over here. Our first date was amazing! I closed my account after our second date. Year and a half later and there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that this is the dude for me!

My BFF met her current fella on match also, and they are really clicking it seems. I always recommend match for people who are frustrated with conventional dating. Worked for me ๐Ÿ™‚

I met my husband on match.com less than a month after each of us had signed up. We were each others’ second person to meet off the site. We clicked immediately and planned to get together at a local starbucks (we only lived about 10 minutes apart). Then a blizzard hit and shut down our city the day before our date! We were so determined to meet each other though that I dug a path to my car with a cookie sheet (I didn’t own a snow shovel. Oh being a student… lol) and he had to thaw off his windshield with boiled water because he didn’t have an ice scraper haha. No matter, we both got to the starbucks on time and we were the only ones there. It was supposed to just be a quick meet and greet but we ended up staying hours and shutting the place down. That was 5.5 years ago, and we’ve been married now for 1.5 years ๐Ÿ™‚

The husband messaged me on Myspace.com (when myspace was still “cool”) after seeing all my interests. I had a Marilyn Manson video on there which I guess impressed him.

I was creeped out by some strange man messaging me. I mean, it is myspace, creeps message you all the time. I had never dated anyone from online before, the concept was really strange to me. I had turned him down several times until he asked me if I wanted to go to the Ink n’ Iron festival with him down in Long Beach. I figured that he would never give up and the invitation was not very threatening.

Best decision I ever made….

Met Fiance on Plenty of Fish after meeting a few duds and serial daters. At that point I had given up and was just looking for a non perv guy to hang out with at hockey games etc. I kept it at friends (or ‘friendzone’ as he kept teasing me) for about a month before I gave in and went on an official date.

I met Fiance on Ok Cupid! I was specifically looking for something casual, he had been casually dating longer and was more ready for a serious relationship. But still, didn’t expect to be marrying anyone I met on there! He kept looking at my page but not messaging me, so I thought he wasn’t interested. He claims that he thought I was too attractive for him, and that I wouldn’t respond. Aww.

Somewhat funny anecdote – with all the wedding planning, vendors like to ask how we met. Some of them really don’t know how to respond when I tell them we met online!

I tried eharmony but kept getting 5’6 die-hard conservatives that lived 30 miles away. Not so great for me, the 5’10 liberal gal that hates to drive. I met my husband on Match! He was going to be my last date before my subscription ran out because I was getting tired of dating. Lucky me for giving him a shot! :p I was his second date in a 3 month subscription. Whoops! Sorry to waste your money, hon. Our first date lasted 7 hours, and he came over the next day and brought me lunch. SOLD!

I met my FH on match.com!  And as it turns out, my sister is good friends with his ex (which still makes for some awkwardness at times during social events, unfortunately!)..

Even though I knew of 3 people who got married to match dates, I joined at the time purely to get myself out of the miserable hole that school was putting me through.  And well, I needed a pick-me-up from breaking up with my crazy ex at the time too..!

I don’t know how my man found my profile, but he sent me the sweetest and most sincere message.  Our messages then got to be more frequent, and I even let my mother read some (she took a liking to him right away).  Soon our messages went from being a paragraph-long to nearly ESSAYS!  I remember at one point it would take 2 whole days to write him back a response to his emails.

Long story short, we decided to finally meet up after like 3 months of messaging.. and the very same corner where we first saw each other is the corner where he got down on one knee and proposed to me exactly 2 years later..! ๐Ÿ™‚  He’s too damn cute.

*I’m not gonna lie and tell you all that I didn’t go through some bad apples before meeting this one though..!  We should start a thread of absolutely horrible internet dating stories too.  HAHA
