So we’ve been talking about if you practiced your signature before you got married. Then it made me think does anyone use BOTH names??
I’m in accounting and I’m a notary and I’ve kept that with my last name because I have to notarize documents ALL DAY!!!!!!!! I just realized that I actually sign BOTH names on a daily basis!! *gasps* Is that wrong??? LOL

Right now I’m using either one depending on what I’m signing. For example, I haven’t been able to change my name on my bank account yet, so I’m using my old name on my cheques etc… but I have a credit card in my new name already, so I’m using the new one for CC purchases.
It feels like a bit of an identity crisis right now.

@MissNoodles: Yeah I really need to get my notary changed…but I have a hard time writing my new last name and since I have to sign my name like 40-50 times a day I’d rather do it with the one I know and looks good! SMH lol

I very rarely sign DH’s last name. I only use it socially though, and usually only sign my first name socially.

I dropped my maiden name completely & picked up DH’s name. Since I changed it, I haven’t looked back. LOL!

I still use both. When I dropped my bank account and joined his, we were still engaged and I wasn’t thinking so I had my maiden name printed on my new debit card and the book of checks we ordered.
Well, for the next month or so, we kept having problems because my name would disappear from his account and we kept having to re-enter everything and then the first bout of checks had DH’s name on them (at the time he saw no use for checks so he didn’t want them) and we had to wait even longer for a reprint.
It was just so much of a hassle and I don’t feel like doing it again so whenever I sign debit receipts or write checks, I use my maiden name so everything matches. But for other documents, i write my married name.
