Reading another Bee’s post about a crying baby drowning out her vows gives me chills! While we are having a children-welcome wedding, I’m wondering if there is any polite way to remind parents ahead of time that they should remove their children if they become excessively noisy during the ceremony. While I definitely hope that all of our friends and family are considerate enough to know that they should whisk their little ones outside in case of meltdowns, it only takes one bad apple to ruin the whole thing!
So, what do you guys think… is there a polite way to do this? Could we have ushers mention to parents as they’re being seated that the couple asks that you take your children outside if they become loud? Could we print it in the program or display a little sign somewhere? Or would it just be totally rude and offensive to mention this at all?
