P.S. I think many people wear two rings because there is a popular notion that two rings means you are “married” rather than just “engaged” or “promised” to someone, etc. Honestly, I’d rather have people know I’m married just by looking at my finger for protection and safety reasons–only because some people might get the memo that I’m an engaged/married woman so don’t even think about it, haha! But, again, that’s just what most of society knows. I think having one ring is gorgeous and I wish people would recognize you don’t need two rings to signify you’re married. But, I guess that is the world we live in.
I’ve seen quite a few beautiful rings that have a split shank that resembles having two rings–and it’s quite beautiful. They don’t necessarily “need” another ring. That might be a good option for you if that is what you like? 🙂

Well, this is just wearing one ring, and this says i am married and not just engaged, as its a plain wedding band.
to wear both just shows the order of things i suppose, we got engaged first then married, and i sure as hell aint putting my E ring in a box just to make way for my wedding ring, i love it too much.

@ Mrs Grape-
When people comment “what a pretty birthstone ring” knowing full well that you are wearing it on your left “engagement/marriage” finger they’re most likely being condescending.
There are women that have hangups about other women choosing “gemstones” for their engagement rings as opposed to a diamond center stone. There are some ladies that won’t even consider you engaged unless its a diamond. I’ve heard that most absolutely ridiculous ideas about engagement and weddings. LOL
Here’s my sapphire engagement ring –i haven’t chosen the wedding band yet but will be wearing it on left hand with my engagement ring–

Wow, these are all beautiful! Esp. pinkandsparkly’s. I got my e-ring and wedding band at JamesAllen.com. Anyone else get theirs at James Allen?
I’ll post my pics soon. I’m a bit self conscious about my hands. I don’t have pretty hands!

Ahhh I want to shop for my band so much!
I know that for a while after getting married, I’ll wear both rings together. I can totally seeing myself someday (esp. after kids) just wearing the band on the regular day to day basis.

WHOA. it is so weird to finally be wearing both.

I wanted a plain gold band so that I’d never have to worry about cleaning it, chipping stones, or taking it off. Gemstone bands would be lovely as gifts, but I’ll never replace my modest, hardworking wedding band.
When I go out I wear both rings, but at home I take off the e-ring to keep it in the best possible condition.

Here are mine together…Fiance bought them as a set! I can’t wait til I can wear them together! I will wear both on my left hand.
