I think a little shiny stud that isn’t really obvious is different than a ring and I also think it depends on your job. No one wants the nurse with a bull ring through their nose but working at some companies its totally normal and okay. I do tend to think any facial piercings don’t belong in a professional enviroment, like a job where you can’t wear jeans and flip flops.

I dont see why there should be a “now you must take it out” age. I have my nose pierced, I’m 23 and I’m definitely not planning on taking it out anytime in the near or distant future.

Never!!! I love my nose stud! It’s tiny and people rarely notice it. It took my former boss 18 months before he realised I had it. I can’t see me taking it out for a very long time, if ever.

My mom wears a nose stud and she’s 56ish. It looks cute on her and really goes with her personality.

I’m 30 and I haven’t taken out my tongue stud (except when I’m seeing patients). So I don’t think there is a “age” when you need to take it out. Whenever it stops being fun.

Same thing I answered on the previous thread, age shouldn’t matter.  It’s whenever you get tired of the look.

I pierced my nose when I was 16, unfortunately the stud came out :(. I’ve thought about doing it again 🙂 I don’t think theres a specific age. As long as you love it, wear it!

I took out my small nose stud around age 30. I had just gotten my Ph.D. and was starting a career search and thought that it would be better to take it out. In some ways I regret it because I looked really cute with it and it wasn’t too overt. Some days I miss it. 🙂 But I also realize that I would never have been taken as seriously as necessary to get the job that I have and to work with some of the clients and people who I work with.

I still have my belly button ring, but I got that about 17 years and 60 pounds ago and am thinking that it might be time to retire that as well, especially if I’m going to get pregnant.

I got a stud on my 16th birthday. However I had to permanently get rid rid of it at 19 when I got my first office job. I loved the cute tasteful stud, but apparently it’s still not entirely workplace acceptable so I had to give it up. But really I don’t think there’s an age where a nose piercing becomes ridiculous as long as you keep it tasteful like any other jewelry.

I was 24 (I think?? LOL) when I got my nose pierced. I’ve always had a stud in it. I’m now 31 and don’t wear it anymore because I can’t find a nose screw that is comfortable to me. I’m pretty sure it’s still open though and if/when I do find another stud that I like that sucker is going back in. I think if you like it, rock it. Age shouldn’t matter.

I was considering posting this!  I got my nose pierced when I was 17, now I’m 25 and I still love it!  I have a very tiny CZ stud, and very few people notice.  I’m an 11th grade teacher and it took my students like 2 months to notice it!  I don’t think I’ll be taking mine out anytime soon!

Nose piercings…. or any piercings….. really do not bother me, so whenever (or not) one wants to take it out is fine with me.

I think someone should take out their nose ring (any peircing, really) when they feel it no longer expresses who they are. I have my nose peirced. I am 24. Recently I was thinking about taking it out because I feel as I grow older it doesn’t completely express who I am. I decided that I will take it out when I go sky diving. That way if I decide I really don’t want it on my face anymore, well… that is just more incentive to go jump out of a plane. That is something I have always wanted to do and this is sort of my way of ensuring that I do that. I plan on having fun and going on adventures for the rest of my life, but this one… the nose ring and the sky diving to me express a last hoorah of unabashed youthfulness.

ETA: Then again, I may just keep it after skydiving… who knows!
