On Saturday I scrub the bathrooms, super clean the kitchen (move everything and wipe down cupboards), dust and wash the floors.
Throughout the week I pick up clutter, tidy up other parts of the house, kind of whatever is needed. Kitchen is cleaned every night after dinner.
Darling Husband is involved, if he is not workin he will do the floors and the man jobs such as clean out the fireplace, he is in charge of the basement and he does most of the outside stuff.
Cleanning seems to be never ending! and we don’t have any kids yet, just a place that is way too huge for the 2 of us!

The majority of the cleaning ends up being done on the weekend, but I try to pick up throughout the week. We split some of the major chores: Fiance physically does the laundry, I fold + put away. I do the dishes, he puts them away. He cleans the bathroom, and I declutter the living room/kitchen/bedroom. We’ve learned over the last year or so of living together what our individual strengths and weaknesses are and try to play off of that.
Most bathroom-related cleaning chores make me want to vomit, so I give them all to him – and he HATES doing dishes, so he willingly takes bathroom in exchange for that 🙂
The biggest issue we have is clutter. He doesn’t understand how to generally pick up around himself, and that causes major stress for me because I’ll wake up to him having gone to work and left his clothes strewn about the living room, a plate with a half-eaten bagel sitting on top of the ironing board with the iron still plugged in (!!)
