I love getting consumable gifts, whether cookies or an exotic ingredient or alcohol. Those always get used! Also gift cards can fall in this category.
Nail polish is also pretty safe. I may have a lot of colors already, but I LOVE getting new shades! It can be so expensive to buy a lot myself, so getting some as a gift is wonderful!
Clutches are also great – I love having little purses to take out on the town the rare times I go out.
And I think getting gardening related stuff would be AWESOME, now that I have a yard I can fix up and play in. A packet of seeds, gardening gloves (I tear through pairs like nobody’s business!), tools, planters… anything! Not everyone likes to spend time digging in the dirt, but I would love to get something like that.

I love gettiing clothes from my stylish aunts and cousins, my favorite movies from my sister and jewlery from my grandma (she only buys the best). I love it all but everyone seems to fall into the same catagory every year.

Humm, my favorite gift is always the gift of an “expereince”….
-All time favorite: Tickets to a concert, play, museum, sporting event, ect. (ESPECIALLY if the gift-giver promises to come with me!)
-One teir down: Games (Board games, murder mystery dinner games, ect.) — again, ESPECIALLY if the gift giver is gonna wanna play the game with me, or if I can use the game to make a family or friends game night special.
-The inexpensive idea: DVDs (You guessed it — Especially if its a movie that I first saw with the gift giver, and/or its a movie he or she wants to watch with me!) I always think its so sweet when the hubby comes home with some random chick flick that he found in the $3 bin at a discount store b/c he thinks I would like it. Nothing better than some hot cocoa, cuddled up on a couch, watching a movie with the hubby!

I am suprised a lot of you like recieving clothes/jewelry etc. I am WAY to picky for someone to pick out that kind of stuff for me. I also tend to not wear one certian size.. I have tops ranging from XS to L so how is someone supposed to fit me??? My favorite thing to recieve is money or gift cards because I LOVE shopping and am super picky. Most of my family and friends have figured this out and either gives me money/gift cards or buy something I point out. Like I already know my fiance is buying me the cowgirl boots i’ve been buying for months but can’t justify spending it on myself 🙂 But I do enjoy getting gifts and can’t go wrong with getting my candy (especially chocolate), socks and pajamas, things with owls (as others above, I collect the cutsey colorful ones.. my Fiance is SO excited about our entire house being decorated in owls.. haha), things with my alma mater, anything monogrammed.
My fiance almost always gets me concert tickets for my birthday which I LOVE. I can’t ever justify spending 100 plus dollars for us to go to a concert and would never ASK him for us to go but living right outside Charlotte, NC we get country music galore near my birthday (in the summer) and he always gets me tickets to a concert for my birthday (usually whichever concert I have casually hinted that I would want to see most knowing darn well what I am getting for my birthday). Its also sweet because he dislikes most country music but goes because I love it 🙂

I like activities so when someone buys me a gift certificate to do something, go somewhere I’m happy. Candles, clothes, jewelry, electronics, hand made stuff, are not my favorite things to receive as gifts.

Fancy food and drink is the best. Barring that, gift certificates to things I like, or absolutely anything off thinkgeek.com
