- Wedding: July 2012
Ours will be around 50 people, including us. We really didn’t want anything huge, and probably would have gone smaller, but Groom-to-be’s immediate family is a lot bigger than mine (I’m an only child; he’s got 3 full siblings and one half-sister–all married and with families of their own). So we’re saying “immediate family and close friends only,” to balance things out a bit more (and nip in the bud any expectations from co-workers and/or acquaintances). We’re getting off easy in the “not offending anyone” bit because neither of our families live in our city and all of my extended family is spread out in Mexico, Australia and France, so no one was really/realistically expecting an invite. They’ll be getting ‘announcement’ type notes closer to the day-of, but that’s just as a courtesy.
I consider our wedding “average”, we’re having 90 guests, we invited 110.
Average, around 140 guests.
I always felt like 100-125 was an “average” wedding. Ours will have slightly less than that, so I’d say we’re a small-average. Anything over 150 is a “large” wedding IMO.
Estimating 100 – 120 guests. I think it’s average! I was hoping for a smaller wedding of about 60 – 75 people but with the size of our families that wasn’t possible unless we didn’t want to invite ANY friends!
I think that ours will be small. We’re inviting 80 and expecting around 70, as nearly everyone is from in town. This seems huge to me, but every other wedding I’ve been to has had around 125-150 guests, so I guess it’ll be percieved as small!
I’m confused on the poll results. I picked ‘average’ as we had 85 Guests. Average to me is around 100 so we are a bit smaller than that. But I wouldn’t quite call it small!!
At around 80 I would classify ours as “small”.
Ours was large. We ended up with about 250 attending. I think we invited about 350. We both have pretty big families.
