I heard on the radio about a little girl named La-a, pronounced Ladasha. I hope to heavens it was a joke!

I know these for a fact as real names-“Bucky Badger ” and “Pleasure”. I also know a Candy Corn.

ETA: I hear crazy names a lot because I am a nurse and sometimes help out in the nursery. I have no idea how those nurses don’t strongly encourage the parents to reconsider.

This one is generally attributed to myth, as I found out later when no one believed me, but I stand witness that I had a child in my class, as a substitute, with this name.

L-a

I thought it was a typo or an abbreviation on the roster. I asked the class to which the girly replied in the meaniest tone:

“Um, it’s Ladasha”

Oh. MY bad.

@Mrs.DBee:  You beat me to it! I have since found that it may actually be a *fairly* common and accepted name.
