Clearly, the only acceptable answer here is cookies and mimosas.  Clearly.  tongue-out

We’ve always had wivesaver as a tradition.

Other options also tend to include perogies from the night before, mandarins and chocolate.  We were never allowed to have much sugar for breakfast, but Christmas and Easter some chocolate was allowed!

Every year for most of my memory my sister has made our grandmas coffee cake recipe. Dough balls rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar, layered in a bundt pan with chopped walnuts. She gets better at it each time… drool.  I might have to learn to do it myself next year. If all continues well, we’ll have a 5 month old that I’m not about to take on a plane, lol.

We always had biscuits and gravy growing up. I grew up in New England and never realized that biscuits and gravy was a southern thing, I just thought it was something my mom came up with because I never saw it anywhere else.

There is a restaurant near my parents that have these awesome baked apple pancakes.  You have to order them ahead of time and my parents have had them for Christmas as long as I can remember.  We just moved out to where my parents live and we’re going to start this tradition too.

Back in the 1970s, Mom started making a breakfast cassarole.  She did it up until the year of her death.  After the first year and Dad remarried, I picked up the tradition.
