I loved cupcake decorating birthday parties, so I did it in most of mine.

One time my mom did the loot bags inside of helium balloons so everyone had to find the balloon with their name on it, then pop it to get their goods!!! It was awesome!!!!

ETA: Your salon party sounds awesome! I would have loved to go to a party like that when I was young!

My favorite was when I was maybe 7 or 8.  I had my 5 best friends over, we all dressed up as pioneer girls (I guess that was our thing back then…), and my dad got us cardboard boxes to make forts.  We ‘camped’ inside in the forts, and got to watch a movie with popcorn.  My mom made up some fun games and it was just a blast.  Cheap, but fun. πŸ™‚

@UpstateCait:  haha that’s hilarious I love it! They will probably go through a stage where they think it was lame and then they will start loving it again πŸ˜‰ I want to be your cousin!!!!

My first sleepover birthday party! All of my best friends were there, and the next day, we went to a roller rink! I had always wanted to go to one (no idea why – girlish fantasies, I guess), and it was a total blast.

@subbywife11:  Were we friends growing up? Because I totally remember playing pioneer girls all the time! Any chance you had a Kirsten doll? πŸ˜‰

My favorite was a rollerskating party when I was 8, I believe. Best friends, cookie cake, and skating all night. =)

I had a hotel sleepover birthday party when I turned 10.  My mom reserved a room at the Embassy Suites for me and 4 of my best friends.  She planned games and craft projects for us and stayed over with us and one of my friend’s mom.  In the morning we played silent elevator races and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  It was SO MUCH fun!!

When I turned 11, my mom took me and my four best friends to the mall in our pajamas (no idea why, haha) and gave us each a sparkly little purse with $15 in it…then we spent hours walking around and deciding what to buy. At the time it was amazing!

When I was turning 7 or 8 I think we had a fashion beauty place come to the house with super cheesy costumes and do our makeup and we did a recorded runway show. I was just the type of little girl who took this type of thing really seriously and when I look at the pictures I can’t even believe the costumes they brought. Like oversize brown dresses with multi colored leaves all over them (my pick).

I was five or six and had a princess party… we made crowns and I had a pink cake with teddy bears in the icing hahaha. I loved it. I was an easy kid to please.
