He didn’t give a speech. He didn’t say anything at all other than telling me to open up the box. I thought I needed a speech but I really didn’t.

It was not a long speech but he did say something before asking me to be his wife.

He told me how much he loves me and how he couldn’t imagine spending the rest of with life with anyone else. I don’t remember his exact words but that was the basic gist. Short and sweet.

I got what I call a business proposition.  There was something about combining forces and assets to reach a common goal.  Nothing about I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.  Half way through I stopped him and told him to start again with a romantic theme rather than a business theme!  So yeah, I got a speech alright!

My FH talks a LOT. However he was so nervous before he proposed all he did was get down on one knee, ask me to marry him, then proceeded to put the ring on my RIGHT hand. I thought it was romantic he was too speechless for a speech…totally unexpected from him and that’s why I loved it.

I voted remembered it perfectly but really it should be rememberd it somewhat. I just remember something along the lines of “I love you, your the love of my life, I have waited too long to do this, I cannot wait to start my future with you, will you marry me. There was other stuff in there as well that I do not remember. Fiance proposed in the park across From Niagra Falls and I think the drinks at dinner combined with me being nervous because we were in public and it just being a little awkward overall contributes to my memory loss.

For us it was a mutual “let’s get married” discussion, though he did present me with a ring later. I’m not sure a speech would have felt natural to me, but it would have been fine. Everyone likes to hear nice things! Oh and also, I can’t remember what date we got engaged, like at all.

Oh……I think so…..I remember he said something but I can’t really recall what it was. I never thought of that before.

I remember word for word. There wasn’t a long speech, but he did say more than “Will you marry me”. He referenced the first time he said “I love you”, since we were in that same spot when he proposed. Interestingly, I found out from him just last week that I started to tear up, but I don’t remember that!

Not exactly. He didn’t even say “Will you marry me?”. Instead he asked me what time it was, said “it’s wedding time!” slipped on the ring and started crying (him, not me!)

@Ms. Martian: haha he cried? that’s so cute 🙂

When my Fiance proposed I was in such a big shock that none of us spoke, I was crying and freaking out and he was just staring at me with the ring on his fingers. When I finally calmed down I said “well?” and he then said ” well will you marry me silly :-)?” and I said YES, I was still shocked when we were hugging, I just couldn’t say anything lol
