My last name is the same as the man with one glove. It spawned a lot of “haha your name should be michael” jokes. Didn’t really bother me.

I wasn’t made fun of beyond a few reference to Becky Thatcher from Ton Sawyer or Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (that book must be 100 years old lol)
But my two boys have uncommon but easy to spell names. And I made sure to try and rhyme them with anything nasty or mean-I was just super concerned for their future. So they have been free of teasing.
However, I had a friend name her son Gaylen right around the time I had my second baby. I don’t know WHAT she was thinking. Poor kid!
I can’t recall anyone being made fun of for their name.
Nope I was not made fun of for my name! I was made fun of for other things though, lol boo!
My name was made fun of here and there but nothing too horrible. I was called “Megatron” when Transformers were really popular. Being called “Four-Eyes” or “Pizza-Face” hurt more. Now I can look back and laugh, tho.
nope, I was only made fun of for being overweight. People are so cruel. Story of my life………..
So yesterday the jerk Professor I wrote about earlier told me my parents should be shot for my name… HE IS AN ASS…
I did a little bit, but moreso in high school than when I was very young. And it wasn’t really “playground mocking” so much as some “cool kid” assholes who thought it was hilarious to call me by a shortened version of my last name which is a euphemism for penis (this short version, not the whole last name). I did not find it amusing.
I have a hypenated first name, and its VERY old fashioned, even though i’m only 25.
I love my name but to everyone else its the most difficult name to spell and pronounce. If you were to sepreate the two, then they are very easy. I guess its just the hyphen that gets people confused. I have so many stories of how people have managed to confuse my name, mispell it, etc. When I introduce myself to people I’ll usually have to repeat my name 3 or 4 times over. Seperate the names though (which I hate on their own and will correct anyone who tries to call me by only one of the names) and its a piece of cake.
I have a tonne of nick names too, only my parents and bother call me by my actual name. If my friends or fiance call me by my full name I feel like i’m in trouble haha.
I wasnt teased for my name, but people did and still do look at me funny when I introduce myself
…..the many times I got, “Step on me, step on me…” were unwarranted. It’s kind of stupid and ridiculous, looking back on it. LOL.
I share a name with a famous gay talk show host. I was teased relentlessly all throughout school. Some people still make comments. Grown adults, not kids. Really? It’s not even funny. Grow up.
My name is Brianne… I remember getting called Breeny for a while in elementary which I hated but thats about all. The thing that drives me most crazy though is everyone always calls me Brianna.
