I attended the presidential summit eons ago and met Bill & Hillary Clinton, Nancy Regan, Bush Sr, Gerald Ford, Michael Bolton, and a few others are escaping my mind.  Oprah jetted into her towncar long before anyone could approach her.

Oh and Bill Cosby, on a separate occassion.

I live in NYC – so a ton! Honestly I try not to ever talk to them because I think that’s obnoxious, but I’ve eaten next to and just been around a lot of celebs. I also see them filming movies all the time esp since I live on the UWS which is a popular spot to film since it’s less touristy. Basically whenever DH and I go out to a nice restaurant which is usually once a month we will almost always see a celebrity – they’re everywhere!

I think one of the coolest celebrity sightings for me was when RAndy from SYTTD actually took over my appointment at Kleinfeld and gave me such awesome service. I was so starstruck to begin with, but he was so helpful and genuinely cared about my wedding dress shopping experience.

I met Frank Zappa a long time ago, Todd Rungren, and partied with the band members of the Tragically Hip

Robert Rodriguez and Quinten Tarintino (twice).  Also, I swear I saw Elijah Wood at the ACL Gogol Bordello concert a few years ago.

The children of Kirby Puckett, a former player for the Minnesota Twins, went to elementary school with me, so I met him a couple of times.

I have also met Peter Mayhew (aka Chewbacca).  It was at a swimming pool, and there was later a game of water tag.  It was crazy.  He was also over two feet taller than me.  Crazy.  Later, his wife bought a piece of my pottery from me, and I’m told that every morning, Mr. Mayhew now eats biscuits out of the bowl that I made.

The Hanson brothers.  Jenelle Evans (from Teen Mom) is from my hometown and I see her all the time but I refuse to acknowledge her as a “celebrity”…

DH is distantly related to Don Knotts (Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show), but sady I never met him. I think that’s it.

So yall all must live way cooler lives than I do. The closest to a “famous person” I’ve met was Laura Bush when George was still in Texas running for President. She came to my school library opening.

@totheislnds:  Ric Flair is everywhere wooing.

Let’s see:  Little Kim, Janet Jackson, Richard Simmons, Stedman Graham, George Bush Jr., every NFL or NBA player that has come through town too.  I really need to sit down and think!

Stephen Pearcy of RATT. He tried to give me cookies baked with pot. Go figure. And DL Hughley. He is a funny funny and super sweet man.

@stardustintheeyes: haha yeah, I spontaneously went to a concert 2 years ago with a girl who was/is OBSESSED with Hanson.  I kinda freaked out, but I totally talked to Zac. I was in LOVE with that kid when I was like 10 years old.

Oooh, fun!  Some of mine are kind of old-school but here goes:  Jessica Tandy and her husband Hume Cronyn (minutes before she won the Academy Award for Driving Miss Daisy), Kevin Costner (flirted madly with me:), Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (school fund-raiser), Rosie O’Donnell (birthday party), Kellie Martin (Lifetime movie queen), Lucy Liu (yoga class), Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives), Bryan Cranston (kids went to school together) and Roland Orzabal (Tears For Fears-our kids are friends)

And I don’t know if this counts as a celeb but I was once at a dinner table with Donald Nixon and he was cracking everyone up with his impressions of his brother.  That would be Richard:)

Anyway, that’s off the top of my head-I know lots of actors you guys wouldn’t consider celebrities but you would know their faces. But I’ll stop now:)

@retreadbride:  lol I’m 44 and when I went to the Academy Awards that year, I must have been about 23. I can’t believe I’m middle-aged already.
