I harbor absolutely no judgement against gift snoopers. in fact, I think it’s really funny.
but for me, I hate it when a surprise is ruined! when I was a kid, I accidentally saw my gifts on a few different occasions, and I was annoyed at my mom for being such a bad gift hider.
my husband and I do much of our holiday shopping online. there are not very many surprises because we have online wish lists – but I won’t know which gifts he’ll pick from my list. when I pick up the packages that UPS brings, I try really really hard to not look at the “from” label. it will give it away almost every time. just last night, I got one and even though I tried to put on blinders, I accidentally saw that it said Etsy on the label. I immediately knew what it was. damn! (but also, yay, because the gift is awesome.)
anyway, how about you bees – do you not like to snoop?

Haha. I’m not a snooper, but I couldn’t if I wanted to. My husband flat out tells me what he’s buying me. No surprises here.

I try not to, but my Darling Husband makes it hard. He literally carried my presents around on his person for 3 days (until he got around to wrapping them) so that I wouldn’t snoop. But then, he left the receipts in a pile with my receipts that I needed to go through. And he left the amazon order he made for me up on our shared computer. So, I’m pretty sure I know what I’m getting because I saw them inadvertantly, and didn’t know what I was seeing at first.
I never snooped as a child, though. I don’t know if it’s because I like surprises, I think it’s just because I didn’t want to be a bad kid lol.

I never snooped as a child, and I don’t snoop as an adult. I LOVE surprises 🙂

I always tried to snoop as a kid! Fiance and I make a big deal about wrapping our gifts in secret now, haha.

I snooped once as a kid, I opened a gift from my brother because I was SURE I knew what it was and he insisted it was not. Sure enough I was right (it was Polly Pocket for the record lol), and then on Christmas day I had to pretend I was surprised. I never did it again! I don’t like to know what things are before I open them unless I ordered it.

Definitely a snooper. Guilty!

Darling Husband is out and about tonight, and I know my presents are in his closet, but I don’t want to look!

@janie-janie: P.S. so what was the Etsy gift? haha, my snoopy-ness knows no bounds!

I snooped once as a child because my sister convinced me it was a good idea to peek with her, and I regretted it. I like being surprised. My Darling Husband can’t keep secrets, so I usually don’t get surprises from him. I was irritated that he was talking to his mother right next to me on the couch, with his phone volume turned all the way up. I heard her say, “We’re getting StuporDuck an iPad 2 for X-mas, but don’t tell her!” Dammit, I had to run out of the room because she started to say, “and for her birthday…” I did not want to hear the rest of that! Let Santa bring me one gift…

I’m such a snooper. I’ve done real good this year though! We didnt celebrate Christmas when I was growing up, and my first actual Christmas was when I was either 16 or 17 and it was at my dads house. It was the first year with my step mom and she’s very traditional and insisted on having a tree and wrapped presents. I went through the entire pile of presents and poked a hole in every single one of mine to try to see what it was. XD

@MsJ2theZ: Lucky. I repeatedly asked for Polly Pocket as a kid, and I’m still waiting for her to show up in my stocking.

@allyfally: Really? Did you celebrate any holiday before that? Interesting.
