I had my husband, mother, and Mother-In-Law which was the plan.  My labor wasn’t very long but especially during pushing they were very encouraging which was the biggest pro.

Although to be honest I was in so much pain I probably wouldn’t have noticed if anyone else was there.

ftm here, 27 wks – so havent had baby yet…but i hope to have Darling Husband, Mom, and Mother-In-Law in the room with me…i’m hoping Darling Husband will be there focused on me, want Mom to record/catalog the events and like things i say during labor, etc. cuz i have a feeling it’ll all be a blur to me and i’d like to have something to look back on, and then Mother-In-Law is great with asking questions and making sure things are going smoothly and to our best interest so i’m hoping she’ll be my go-to-girl with the medical staff if any special circumstances should arise and questions need to be asked..lol

I had Darling Husband and 2 midwives, just like I planned. Well, I didn’t plan on the 2 midwives. There was a midwife and an midwiving student.

It was just Darling Husband with me (besides my midwife & the L&D nurse), which was the plan. I wanted to try for a medication-free birth & knew that I’d need to feel 100% comfortable to manage the pain. Darling Husband is the only person I trust enough to labor in front of. Plus, he knows me so well that he was able to support me exactly how I needed, even if I didn’t know what it was at the moment (like suggesting position changes or what to say to help me calm down).

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with having someone other tha Darling Husband in the room, it just wasn’t for me.

When I had my two daughters and when I give birth this time around, it will just be my Darling Husband and I just like we want. I just find it to be so intimate and special that I would like to share that with him alone.

I’m only 9 weeks, but I only want Darling Husband. I wouldn’t mind if my mother were in the room, but to be totally honest, I’m not comfortable at ALL with my Mother-In-Law being in there….and I feel like if I asked mine, I’d have to ask her.

*My Mother-In-Law is a great person, but I just have no interest in her seeing my baby-making bits, haha.

The plan was to have just Darling Husband in the delivery room but to have my Mum on standby should things start to go wrong.

What ended up happening was that my labour completely stalled after eleven hours (active labour began at 11:30am and stalled at around11:30pm) so when the OB came in at 8am the following morning and gave us a three hour deadline to get things moving we decided to call my Mum in as extra support.

Having Mum there worked out really well as Darling Husband was able to go home for an hour or so so he could have a quick break which helped him out a lot.
