I originally joined to have a logistics question answered.
Initially, I was left a bit traumatized (strong word, can’t think of a more appropriate one right now) by the responses, but I soon realized most Bees who responded were chiming in based on THEIR personal experience, and that they truly meant well.
Now I come on here to or relive the stress and merriment of other soon-to-be brides without the actual worries, and offer support when necessary.

I joined before I was engaged, and found it really comforting seeing people in my exact situation on the waiting boards.
Now it’s a great resource for wedding planning. I found my photographer through the local boards, figured out how to word the invites, get confirmation that I’m not the only one stressing about little things.
Also, kill time at work. I’m only on here Monday through Friday from 9-5 😉

I joined for the support on the waiting boards, and the advice and sympathy I found there really helped my relationship and my sanity! I stayed through my wedding planning and now because I love the community and the good advice.

Because I have no idea how to plan a wedding (still don’t) and I like that I can ask questions on here and get answers right away, without doing hours of research.
Plus, some of the Bees are growing on me. 🙂

I joined during my wedding planning because I was a semi-regular poster on another wedding website that was basically a bunch of narrow minded rude girls and I was over their drama.
I wanted ideas for my budget reception and I fell in love with this community.
I really enjoyed sharing the journey of TTC with the nesting ladies, and now that BabyDane is here I stick around to get parenting advice, because let’s face it: I have no idea what I’m doing!
I like the boards, I have a lot of advice to offer on wedding etiquette, running & working out, and with the whole pregnancy/labor/delivery thing. I like that I have lived through some of these incredible experiences and that you lovely Bees ask for my input sometimes. It makes me feel loved <3.

When I first joined the bee, it was because I was going to be a bridesmaid in my sister’s wedding, but we were having some issues and I was looking for advice. I stayed on for advice pretaining to: college, career, relationship, and the “pre-engagement phase” of my relationship; and now I am staying on because I may need some wedding advice relatively soon.
Conversations about certain things are so awkward, and my friends do not want to listen to “pre-engagement/wedding” talk (understandably). I don’t want to be annoying, but sometimes an outsider’s opinion is needed.

I joined because I liked the waiting board and hopefully it will help with planning. I stay because I spend a lot of time at work and it helps to talk to people about topics that no one at work cares about. Plus someone I know and don’t exactly love is on another website so I want to avoid her (I suspect she is the reason my wedding website that I didn’t know existed on that other site all of a sudden got all these visitors-ugh.)

Found it when I was searching for ring ideas, now staying while I plan the wedding, but I imagine I’ll probably stick around because of the community (and for more ring (RHR, bands, etc) ideas)!

@asianbarbie: I was always terrified that being “that girl” who talked of nothing but wedding things. I wanted the bee to be my outlet. Luckily it’s a great community and I’ve definitely learned a few things!:)

When I first got here? Wedding planning.
Now? I like reading the baby boards and people’s insane family stories.

I dont even remember how I found it but I loved it right away and liked looking at the pictures and reading everyones ideas and posts. I stay because I still love looking at wedding pictures and helping other brides with ideas and to give my opinions 🙂

@LivingInPink99: same for me. I joined so that I could have others to speak freely with about wedding related things without bothering the people in my real life by being “that girl”. It’s also a great place to get ideas from.
I stayed to kill time.. I mainly enjoy seeing new dress styles and seeing them on real people 🙂

Usually to distract myself when I’m in pain or not feeling great. Sometimes I’m just bored or got really interested in a thread or two so check out other posts while waiting for an update.
When I first joined it was to figure out wedding stuff, but I tended to just lurk.

Joined for wedding ideas and suggestions. Now that I am married I stay because I enjoy the community overall.
Plus my Darling Husband and I are TTC and so far in just a few weeks that ladies on here have been overwhelmingly helpful. Why leave when you have so many educated and helpful people in one place?
