I saw a post but it was closed before i had time to comment on it, but I was curious to see different opinions on this.
I have terrible skin. My forehead and chin are REALLY oily (every day at 10am I have to blot it and I need to use TWO whole blotting sheets – it’s a nightmare) but my jawline and cheeks are really dry.
I don’t have bad acne, but the red marks that are left by any spots stay – even if I don’t pick or touch them or anything.
I have to wear make-up for my own self-esteem. Recently, I’ve had to go without makeup and I haven’t worn any for 3 weeks… it’s awful. I’m so self conscious.
But because of this, I’ve started looking at people differently. I used to envy the girls with amazing make-up skills and wish I had the talent and products to doll myself up like that, but now I find myself staring at the girls who don’t wear makeup. The ‘plain’ girls by hollywood standards and I think “Awwww man! I’m so jealous that you can get away without wearing makeup! Your skin is so clear!!!!”
So girls who think you’re plain Jane, chances are I’m probably looking at you and feeling incredibly jealous that I don’t have your face.
So why do you wear makeup? And who are you jealous of?

I don’t always wear makeup, but the main goal is to not look like a zombie. I’m being honest when I say that I am sometimes startled by how tired I look in the mirror sometimes when I don’t wear makeup.

@lookingglass: I wear make up for many reasons, but first and foremost because I enjoy putting it on. I like trying new colors/techniques. I like mascara, a lot. My skin used to be TERRIBLE, so I had to learn to shop products that wouldn’t break me out, but cover my problem areas.

I wear foundation to cover my bad skin and eyeliner every day. Past that, only on special occasions.
Although I did recently just discover the Just Bitten Kissable balm stains and I’m head over heels in love. I might be adding one of those to my daily routine.

I only wear it for work and when we go out.
Foundation to even out my skin tone. Mascara as I have very short and sparse eyelashes. And eyebrow pencil for the same reason as mascara (but for eyebrows, LOL). That’s all I use!

I wear Bare Minerals – so my makeup is usually light. You can still see my freckles. I like blush – so my face isnt so pale. I also use Boiing concealer to cover up these gosh awful dark circles under my eyes – WHERE DID THESE COME FROM?!!! I never used to have them… but once I graduated college and started working – BOOM. Theyre here. haha…

I don’t wear or use that much make up 75% of the time- mostly because I’m lazy about it! I ALWAYS wear chapstick and re-apply about 5 times a day. When I do wear make-up, it’s usually mascara, pressed powder for anti-shine, and lipsticks. I go all-out about a dozen times a year and wear tinted moisterizer, blush, pressed powder, eye liner, eye shadow, concealer, masacara, and lipstick.

I wear makeup to cover my acne scars/even out my skin, and eye makeup to make my eyes pop.

I usually wear foundation, neutral colored eyeshadow, mascara, and tinted lip balm. Sometimes blush, lipstick, and/or a more developed eyeshadow/eyeliner look if I’m feeling fancy.
I don’t usually wear make-up on the weekends when we’re running around doing errands or whatever.
I guess I just wear it because I think it makes me look better. I don’t feel self-conscious without it, but I like the way I look with it on. I also think it’s pretty much expected for me as a professional.

I have to wear something to cover my bad skin and I definitely need some mascara because I’m blonde – which means blonde eyelashes. They don’t even exist unless I put something on them. They’re super long too, so I can’t help but love them all darkened up.
The rest is just pretty stuff. I don’t mind going with my bare essentials, but I don’t have to so I won’t.

I have tempermental skin. Some days, I have clear skin; other days, my skin is splotchy and breaking out. So, I almost always wear foundation and blush some days it is only a light coverage foundation.
I’m jealous of the girls who have time to touch-up their makeup and lipstick. I can’t wear lipstick on a daily basis because it always wears off.

I only wear makeup if we’re going out for the evening. I have never been one of those girls that you put make up on and they look completely different, I always look like me with some eye makeup on.
I’m currently in love with BB creams though, they are amazing! it’s like a primer and tinted moisturizer in one.

@mnp: ahhh tell me about it!! i sometimes look at girls and think how does it stay that good all day?! and then realise they must touch it up loads…i just don’t do that and most of it has melted off by the end of the day!

I just wear eye makeup to make myself look more awake. I never leave the house without mascara. I recently discovered Bobby Brown’s eye corrector, which I put under my eyes and it seems to brighten my entire face. I am very lucky to have good skin, so I only really use foundation for special events.
Since my skin is so fair, any heavy or creative makeup looks rediculous on me. I am jealous of women who can wear of fun colors or smokey eyes, but I can’t pull them off.

@lookingglass: a little primer can take your make up a loooong way. Loreal (sp?) has a line out that includes a few different types of primers that I’ve used and like. I dab a little in the corners of my eyes, bridge of my nose and also around my mouth where my make up tends to ” crease” because of laugh lines and it helps smooth over those spots so makeup doesn’t slide too much.
