While I do enjoy polls, they don’t make me any more likely to comment on a post.

I think it depends on the topic…. If you are asking which one of somethign is better then yes a poll should be added. If you are trying to stay anonymous then that is another reason to add one.. Had to edit that cause I am chatting with Darling Husband and not paying attention to what I am typing…lol.

I don’t think I am more likely to comment. Sometimes I just answer the poll because it is quick and someone might have made my point already-This usually applies mostly to dress polls.

Polls are a quick and easy way for me to tell you what I think..so I think I participate more by voting..rarely will I actually comment.

If I don’t have much time, I love polls because I can give quickly answer. Although, sometimes I want to come back to respond but I forget because polls I’ve voted on doesn’t show up on my profile list under recently posted.

If I have time, I do scan the responses to see if there is anything I can add.

I have noticed that I do tend to get more responses in the poll then in comments.

Depending on the topic, I like polls because I can give you a quick answer when I don’t have the time to type out my answer. But if I’ll have something to add to the discussion I have no problem leaving a comment and doing a poll

I usually respond to something I voted on just to explain a little further. And sometimes, the little ‘poll symbol’ on the mainpage draws my attention to a post…so maybe I do participate more on boards with polls, but it’s a minimal effect if anything.

I like the polls if there are three options or less, otherwise my attention wanders. But I agree with PPs,  the polls get more responses and draw my eye.

If I tend to have what I feel is the unpopular opinon I would respond to a poll and not comment.
If there was no poll I would just not comment at all. Just don’t want to deal with the drama of backlash. πŸ˜€

It depends.  If I feel the need to clarify a vote I will post.  But sometimes just the poll vote is enough.
