I have a rose gold ring, wore a mermaid dress, and did a DIY photo booth.

My engagement ring is a gorgeous oval halo ring that my fiance designed himself. I’m also wearing a strapless mermaid dress. I’ve pictured myself in a mermaid dress since I was a kid and saw glamorous pictures of old hollywood starlets and Morticia Addams (I love the dark, sultry look) in them. I don’t have a very “trendy” wedding becuase I’m definetely the girl who has had her wedding planned in her head since she was a kid but if my tastes reflect todays trends then why would I care? I love looking at compilations of weddings through the decades. Trends are how looking back and identifying cool decade changes are possible. Take a look at the link for some fun wedding looks sinces the 1900s

Well, if my venue allowed for it, I would go for a lot of things that you can currently find on pinterest, that’s for sure. I love the burlap & lace combo, twinkly lights and all that jazz, but it just wouldn’t really go with our venue. Neither would bright colors. We’re using antique gold quite a bit, though, which I guess you could call “trendy”. And even though I haven’t bought a dress yet, I’m abot 99% sure that it will include quite a bit of lace.

Other than that we haven’t really decided on anything particular yet since the wedding is still so far off, but there certainly are a few things I can see us doing. I know many people find the “Uncle XYZ, here comes your bride” signs tacky, but the thought of my little nephew carrying that into the church is just the cutest thing ever. Fiance thinks it’s a little too cutesy, but we’ll see who wins that one. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fiance also really wants to take a superhero T-shirt picture with his buddies and I think it’s hilarious, so that might happen, too. Plus we’re thinking about getting rose gold wedding bands (where I live bride and groom wear matching bands, so we’d both wear similar simple rose gold ones).

Still in VERY early planning stages here but here goes!  Love the positivity, ladies!!

I am deeply madly in love with a rose gold pear engagement ring.  No one I know has rose gold or a pear though so maybe not trendy in this part of the country?

Bircdage card holder – practical and pretty plus I can use it after.  Win win!

Peacock colours.  Yep in a spring wedding.  I have been told by so many people that spring means subdued colours but I don’t care.

Mismatched bridesmaid dresses.  Same dress, different colours.

Games – for the guests while we are doing pictures, for after dinner.  Whatever.  We love outdoor games so it is very us!

DIY bouquet.  I’ve done them for everyone elses weddings so of course I am going to do mine!

I’m sure in the end I will have many more!  I figure if there is one time in your life it’s ok to be trendy it’s your wedding!

I had mismatched BM’s, I had a 1920’s style wedding at a mansion, I wore a dress with sleeves and some sheerness on the top… My second dress had a beaded sash that was 1920’s inspired. Drop veils are getting popular I think … Andddd gloves are totally making a come back! Pictures

cbpokrz85:  Wow! I love your reception dress, but your sleeved gown is 100% a stunner. Who is the designer? I am also jealous of that gorgeous figure!

I don’t think either gowns look “trendy” at all. Your wedding dress looks like a classic to me!

I find it interesting that people think rose gold is trendy. All the metals have been around for so long, I don’t think anyof them could be considered trendy.

I’ve loved rose gold since I was a kid. My Mother wore a lot of blackhills gold jewelry. The rose gold threads on the ring board are usually my fav!

DesiMercedes:  We did it the old fashioned way – cut down a tree, sliced it up, sanded and lacquered everything!  If the shipping didn’t cost so much, I’d offer to sell ours to you, but I imagine it’d be outrageous to mail those things.

Mismatched bridesmaid dresses for the win! I love giving each woman the ability to choose which style looks best on her.

And although I couldn’t convince my fiance into picking one, naked cakes will hopefully stick around. They look great, and they don’t have too much frosting.

Our wedding was all kinds of awesome.

But one thing we weren’t so sure about before hand, but were completely glad we splurged was for the Photobooth.

Anyone who says taking pictures in a photobooth is not fun is a cottonheadedninnymuggins.  People friggin love photobooths.  You don’t even need props.  People love taking pictures of themseves.  It’s science ๐Ÿ˜€

Plus, we got all the copies and oh they are special to us.  We had them printed on 4X7x and added them to the end of our wedding album.  Some of the photobooth pics are the only pics we have of some family members who run when they see a regular camera LOL.

FUN
