Nice work ladies!

We’re having a teeny tiny wedding so not much space for trends. I have a lace dress, which seems to be popping up in a lot of these threads as trendy, but surely lace is classic?! I think peonies are having a super trendy moment, but I LOVE them and if I wasn’t getting married in Autumn they’d be top of my list! In PINK.

Go for the photobooths. People *do* love taking photos of themselves. And yes, it gets silly. Maybe a little cringeworthy. But is that a crime? Photo strips are the only thing I’ve kept from any weddings I’ve been to.

ETA: I think mismatched bridesmaid dresses are here to stay. It just makes so much more sense. Who doesn’t love being practical?

crazyventures:  love the shoes I was seriously considering these shoes but I felt I had a lot going on with my dress and. My Fiance bought me a sparkly rose clutch so I went with white shoes. But I seriously love these might just buy them to have them!

My trendy planning ideas.

-bridesmaids with navy dresses pink flowers and shoes

-my gorgeous halo (which I didnt know was trendy)

-men in suits instead of Tuxes

seems to me all boring stuff is timeless so why not have fun and do what fits your style/ personality

I doubt bling Like this will go out of style.

Tess63110:  do you mind me asking where your broach bouquet is from?!? Its beautiful, I’m trying to find one!

My wedding will be 1920’s glam, with a Gatsby theme! My invites are all art deco, no flowers, only huge white ostrich feathers, pearls, crystals, black, gold, you get the idea 🙂 I’ve ALWAYS wanted this style of wedding since reading The Great Gatsby in grade school. The 20’s are my favorite era, so I feel like I’m not following a trend, but am at the same time i am since people don’t know about my obsession beforehand haha

Mismatched bridesmaids, alternative-flower bouquet, and we’re having old jars to hold flowers in the centerpieces.

I’m wearing a a hair wreath I bought on etsy, a blue beaded gown, and a cape along with my “trendy” halo e-ring 🙂

In all honesty, I think the cape trend has yet to come into full-bloom IRL but I have seen a fair amount on the runway. If they don’t become a real popular trend in the future then I guess that’s a bonus for me for uniqueness, I just love it!

stephncollins:  Trendy items at my wedding:

  • Mismatched bridesmaids–Different dresses, different fabrics, different colors
  • Gold dress instead of ivory or white
  • Cupcakes instead of cake
  • Lace everywhere I can stuff it
  • My wedding set is rose gold
  • Groomsmen in vests, not suits or jackets
  • Chalkboard signs
  • Mason jars (because they are cheap as hell and you can spray paint them gold, dip them in glitter and BAM you got yourself a pretty place to put flowers.)
  • And finally, my tour de force, my brooch bouquet

Mason jars (Outdoor Kentucky farm wedding, was there really another option?!) a little bit of burlap on the high top tables in the cocktail area (leftover from an engagement party we were thrown) and used to wrap homemade goat soap favors, a couple of tea cups, and sequin table clothes.

steph91:  Thanks! My mother made it!  We collected heirloom brooches and she also used pearls, and strung them on floral wire individually.  It was a long process!  I attached a short video from our wedding, and you can see my BMs tweaking it even that morning so you can see a bit how it all fit together.  They are working on it at about 30 seconds into the video.  Good luck with yours!
