i currently have a split shank ering that i have posted on here lots to get your opinions! I was thinking about having the ring reset in a setting without a split shank. Well today I had my rings cleaned and the jeweller made a unique suggestion that I have never seem before. He suggested completely splitting the band of my ering into two thin bands so that my band fits snuggly between. My ering then would look similar to the picture below but with a princess cut double halo. Anyone have a similar ring? Im interested in seeing your set together. Im nervouse because Iwould no longer have the option of wearing mu ering alone, but Im not sure if this would really bother me. Would love pictures or opinions!

I’ve seen these sets before. I don’t think it’s a good idea, plus I think the split shank of these rings are way too far apart and look strange without the wedding band.

Personally, I think it’s cool. .it’s your ring and if you like that go for it 🙂 you could always just get a plain band to wear if you need to

I personally don’t like the idea as it seems like it would get even more grubby. I also would want the option to wear the engagement ring alone. But if you love it and would solder your rings then go for it!

My mom’s ring is exactly like tht and a plain band fits between. As the jeweller said, you can only wear the band alone. However, she has been married since 1972 and her ring is still going strong! It is a unique design…her’s is the only one I have seen like it until now.

I appreciate designs that are unique and out-of-the-box. I really love that look!!! Please post if you decide to move forward with it, would love to see the results.
