Splurge on forever jewellery! I got a diamond tennis bracelet from Stephanie Gottlieb that I can wear everyday after the wedding!

loveydove :  Oh dear lord did I splurge. My necklace and earrings are going to cost just about as much as my wedding dress. I wanted every detail to have a purpose and the necklace and earrings I found just perfectly matched with the theme of my wedding and as a bonus will be something I will wear again after the wedding. Also, my e-ring is rose gold and I don’t have any “good” rose gold jewelry so I wanted a set that will work with my ring.

I bought statement earrings that were about $200, so kind of between splurge and costume ๐Ÿ™‚ I have worn them a couple of times since and will still keep them forever.

I’d splurge on pieces you know your going to wear again, if they fit your everyday style. If your going OTT for your wedding then I’d do costume. All my pieces I plan to wear I already own so no extra shopping for me in the jewelry department ๐Ÿ™ lol

SabL22 :   same.

i went real for wedding, but i also owned the pieces already. (diamond earrings, pearl necklace, diamond rhr) with different diamond/pearl pieces rotated in/out for other wedding events.

i will say this tho… if you are careless with jewelry, or you’re getting married somewhere you think the jewelry might get lost (destination wedding, up in the woods, etc) go costume.  it would break my heart to try to find a dropped earring on the beach.

real doesn’t have to be a big splurge.  you can find gorgeous pearl jewelry with silver on etsy for reasonable amounts (often cheaper than high end costume!)   gemstones set in gold-plated silver can also be inexpensive and lovely.

I say go for it! I will be borrowing my aunt’s unreal tennis bracelet (each diamond is the size of my engagement ring center stone, it’s out of this world) and my mom’s diamond earrings. May decide to splurge on a necklace for myself, but our wedding bands (well, mine at least) is going to be $$$$.

I had no choice but to “splurge” (they were expensive to me) on $250 pearl earrings because I’m allergic to sterling silver. My pearl necklace was a college graduation gift from my grandma and my husband got me a pearl bracelet as a wedding gift.

Not exactly. I wore some jewellery borrowed from a family member for the ceremony and gave it back right after. It was my borrowed/blue/old. And I wore a set of pearls for the reception that I had received as a wedding gift from a close friend as my new. I think if I hadn’t had those things though I might’ve splurged on a set though. I’m allergic to pretty much everything except platinum so it would’ve been a bit expensive  ๐Ÿ™‚ I was grateful to borrow the beautiful jewellery I did though!

I’ll be wearing a mix. I splurged on sapphire earrings for my something blue, but my hair piece and bracelet are vintage rhinestone pieces.

My wedding jewelry was made by my mother, and I wore a sparkly costume jewelry head piece in my hair. The jewelry by my mom will be forever pieces that I wear with wonderful memories. I totally recommend checking out Etsy for potential custom jewelry ideas as there are some great artists who have reasonably priced work.

This is the necklace I will be wearing on my wedding day. It’s sterling silver and crystal pearl in ivory to match my dress. I’m assuming it’s considered costume jewelry since it was $55 on Etsy. I think it looks absolutely beautiful on and love how simple and elegant it looks with the dress. Sorry for the big pic!
