The “splurge” that comes to mind for me, was chair covers. Surprisingly, they are not often used in my area, so they were definitely a splurge for me. I really wanted to tie the room together and I felt chair covers and a lighted backdrop for the head table were the best way to do that. Oh! And uplighting!

Hmmm…our “surprise” guest.  I can’t reveal him now, but will later.  In any case, he cost an extra $350 for 1 hour’s time (and I feel like I’m a pretty cheap bride!), but hopefully will be worth it in the end!!

Also, side note, he’s not a stripper. ;0)

We’re definitely splurging on the photographers. Personally, I don’t mind paying more for our photographer than we’ll be paying for the venue [tight budget] because the photos mean an incredible deal to me, whereas where we get married…not so much. I also have one more thing that isn’t listed. I’m planning on splurging on my necklace, because I fell in love with it, and I just can’t imagine NOT wearing it.

Well now that you added the poll, I may have to throw in “personalized details”! Like 360 wine cork escrot holders that require 2 corks, 3 different glue spots and 2 different ribbons per cork! ๐Ÿ˜‰

@love108:  Ok I will share and hope no one reads the thread…basically b/c Fiance won’t let me actually tell anyone but 1 bridesmaid and I am needing to share! ๐Ÿ˜‰  I grew up in the heart of Madison, and we’re getting married in Downtown Madison, right by the football field. Pretty much the whole state is avid “WI/Badger Fans”…so we contacted the alumni association and Bucky Badger is coming as a “surprise guest” at the end of our Grand March/Entrance.  He’ll then dance, take pics, hang out for an hour.

    For a $350 fee..

Don’t love the fee part, but the guests will love it!

@MadTownGirl:  Hahahaha, I honestly will never in a million years understand that, but I am so glad you are doing something that you and all your guests will love and always remember!!! Consider it a donation.

Definitely photography! Money is no object when it comes to that, it’s our top priority.  We’re also making sure to leave enough room in the budget for a decent videographer (:

@Peony007:  &  @love108:  Thanks gals! I honestly had to come back and check the response.  I agree that it is pretty ridiculous to blow so much money on that!  But seriously we/the guests will love it!   It’s weird I know, but we cut, DIY’d, went to off-peak season, for other discounts, and this was our fun splurge! ๐Ÿ™‚
