I’ve been having mild cramping for the past 4 days or so and brown spotting every time I wipe (not much… and always brown– but it is EVERY time I wipe.) Darling Husband and I are NTNP but BD’d every day during the week that *should* have been my ovulation (12/24-12/26– I don’t really temp or test but that’s my best guesstimate of when it is, based on CM, etc.) Called my doctor yesterday after some REALLY intense cramps the night before that lasted about 5 minutes (haven’t had any like that EVER before, or since then) and she told me to test for pregnancy. I hate seeing negatives so I’m waiting a few days (I feel like it’s way too early still- I’m likely only 8-10dpo), but the more days that go by with consistent spotting, I am starting to worry that something else may be wrong.
Has anyone else experienced this? Can it be normal or should I be worrying?

I had implantation spotting that was brown and very light. Thought it was AF starting but it was only there for 1 or 2 bathroom breaks after wiping.
After getting my bfp, I remembered the spotting and timing told me it was most likely implantation. I cant remember exact day it occured but it had to be pretty close to CD 28 because I assumed it was AF and my cycles are very regular.

I had spotting in November mid-cycle and right before my period and really bad cramping, so bad that I actually thought maybe I was somehow preggers but my period came right on time on 12/4. Went to the gyno on 12/23 and it turned out I had a cervical polyp, which the doctor pulled off right during my appointment. They called 3 days later to say it was benign and the dr. said that was causing the spotting/cramping. So I’d go and get checked out if I were you. I haven’t felt any cramping at all since 12/23 btw and oddly enough, this time I’m just about 4 weeks along. 🙂

@kw948103: I had terrible cramping and consistent brownspotting for several days before and after i got my BFP at 10DPO. I had on and off spotting (brown/pink and red) until I was 12-13 weeks pregnant. I am now almost 27 weeks and everything is going well!

Spotting is completely normal, infact it is common. It is only a worry when the consistency changes and it becomes heavier.
I tested positive one morning after TTC for 6 months, and that afternoon started bleeding heavily. The cramping was intense too, nothing like regular cramps. It turned out I had had whats called a chemical pregnancy, which means the egg and sperm came together, but failed to implant in your uterus. Its also known as an early miscarriage.
Im not telling you this to scare you, just so that you know if the spotting becomes heavier, seek help.
Good luck! X

I had implantation bleeding that was heavy enough I thought it was my period (I had lights periods FWIW, just around 3 days long). And bad cramps. Ok, they weren’t really that terrible but I was on the BCP right before I got pregnant so I never had much in the way of cramps to begin with. I figured they were worse because I was off BCP. But it was probably implantation related cramps.
So yeah, I’d test…especially if you’re just spotting. Maybe wait until your period is due and then test.
Oh, and then more cramps on and off through the first 10 weeks or so of pregnancy. Cramps are pretty normal that early on.

@kw948103: i didn’t start spotting until TTC. first cyle was 1 day before AF, 2nd cycle was 4 days leading up to AF. i called Gyn because i was concerned. I’m going in for a blood test to check my progesterone levels on CD 24 which is Jan 6.
Hopefully the results will give me some answers.

@kw948103: Sptoting and cramping early on is very common- I spotted on and off for 2 weeks early on and am over 27 weeks pregnant now. I’d take a test!

Thanks everyone- knowing this is somewhat normal is really helpful! I think I’m going to wait it out another day or two and then test.
@ajillity81: I’ve heard a lot about low progesterone- if I DON’T get a BFP this month, I may look into having my levels tested. I’ve heard BC pills can really mess that up and I was on them for a long time before going off them about 7 months ago. Hope you get some answers!
@atlbride2013: That sounds insanely painful! My cramps the other night were SO intense for about 5 minutes that I thought something like that might be going on, but they went away and I didn’t have any red bleeding or anything- it’s only been brown. Who knows.
