has anyone experienced spotting after getting several positive pregnancy tests? Did your pregnancy continue ok otherwise? Last week I took two pregnancy tests on Thursday and one on Friday and they were all positive. Today I started having heavy spotting with brownish blood. I’m 6 days late with my period and had been having bloating and sore breasts which further confirmed the pregnancy in my mind.
i can’t get to a pregnancy test until after work but I’m afraid I might be having a chemical pregnancy/ miscarriage. I’m having cramping now and it just feels like my period is coming. My husband and I have tried for over a year to have a baby and this was the first time I ever got a positive. I’m keeping my fingers crossed this one sticks.

I have read that brown or pink spotting is usually not problematic, but red is not good. Also, I read that lots of women have cramping due to uterine stretching. Good luck and hope everything works out! FX for you

PeachRN: I had two weeks of brown/super dark red spotting after I got my BFP. For me, my OB said my cervix was irritated from all the extra blood flow and that’s where the spotting was coming from. Most of the time, everything is fine. As long as it doesn’t progress into bright red blood that soaks a pad in 2 hours.

PeachRN: I never had spotting my entire pregnancy that ended in MC or my pregnancy with Dear Daughter. BUT I did have horrible horrible cramping early on with both. Since this is your first pregnancy your uterus is stretching out to make room for the baby that will be growing there. I literally had to leave a work meeting one day multiple multiple times to go to the bathroom because I couldn’t keep a straight face I was so uncomfortable. I also agree with PP that dark red blood is a bad sign, anything else is okay. Get in to see your doctor as soon as you can to ease any fears you may have! Goodluck, H&H 9 months to you! 🙂
