Since you are only having pain on one side, I would contact your doctor to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. FX for a sticky baby!

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  agreed.

Don’t panic, brown is old blood that’s ok. I would still call the doctor & see what they say.

@mrsc630:  Don’t Google. Looking for symptoms always scares people, even when there’s nothing wrong.

If you are very worried, can you call the hospital associated with your doctor and speak to someone else (if you can’t get a hold of him)?

Most insurance plans have a nursing line you can also call. The number might be on the back of your insurance card. If it isn’t, type the name of your insurance plan into Google and use terms like “Call a nurse, “Nursing line,” etc.

They should be able to direct you. Tell them your symptoms, circumstances, etc.

Try not to worry. Old blood, as PP said, is likely not serious. Might be the result of intercourse a few days ago or something. The pain on one side could also be from a number of things, most of them way less serious than an ectopic pregnancy. It could be due to one of your ligaments stretching, or a cyst, or a fibroid. Call and talk to someone in the morning to get their take on it, but try not to worry like crazy until then.

@mrsc630:  Any update?  I spoke with a friend (who is a nurse) when I had some spotting, he said spotting is common and if it is brown it is fine. When I called my MD, he said the same thing and didn’t even ask me to come in.

@mrsc630:  I’m really happy to hear that things are looking good! If you are really nervous and can’t relax until tomorrow, maybe a cheap dollar store HPT will ease your mind? I know that when I don’t ‘feel pregnant’ enough, taking one always helps.

@mrsc630:  this is so scary for you to go through. I’ll be Fx that it all turns out ok!
