Yup, I had some very light brown spotting off and on from about week 6-9. It’s normal.

@futurerothstein:  I had some brown spotting too. As long as it was just a little bit and brown, it shouldn’t be cause for alarm. If you find more or it turns red, you should call your doctor.

Yes, i had, around my 6 – 7th week. I read it’s due to implantation of the egg, but i am not sure..i got really scared ( ihad a miscarriage before) and went to the hospital. They sent me home and ordered me to rest as much as i could (but maybe due to the previous miscarriage!). From what’ve read since, it’s quite normal though i did not have it when expecting my first child

@futurerothstein:  I had this too.  It’s normal.  I also had pink and once or twice reddish spotting and I talked to my doctor.  It’s also normal, but you should definitely speak to your doctor if you’re worried (at the very least, it should make you feel better).  I was really nervous about it, but it stopped after the 11-12 week mark for me.

Apparently, it can happen throughout your pregnancy, especially after sex and there are women who have enough bleeding that they may think that they are getting their period.  This is why it is possible for a woman to go for many months (or even until the birth) not knowing that they are even pregnant!

I also had spotting in early pregnancy..probably for weeks 5-8 here and there? I’d call your doctor even though it’s usually normal!

I would definitely call your doctor to just be sure that everything is ok. Light brown spotting is usually normal, but it never hurts to check!

As everyone else says, some spotting can be normal.  But it’s never a bad thing to call your OB if you are worried.

I spotted too, around 5 weeks.  They did blood work to find out I was A- and the hubs was + so the baby was + too.  Had to get the Rogham (sp?) shot and the spotting stopped.

I just wanted to pop back in and let you know that even though spotting CAN and normally IS normal there are definitely many many situations when it isn’t so be cautiously optimistic about it…with an emphasis on the cautious. You won’t regret getting things checked out, even if it’s just for peace of mind!
