The cycle before we conceived I noticed spotting for the day or two surrounding ovulation. I can’t really say if it’s normal or not as it was the first time I recall it happening, but I did experience it! We Because I got pregnant that cycle I’d assume there wasn’t a problem. That being said, depending on what happens next it could very well also be that your body is still regulating after the pill.

First off, ovulation spotting is not unusual from what I remember reading in Taking Charge of Your Fertility, so if that’s what it is, not necessarily a cause for concern. Second, as you know your body is adjusting to being off the pill and is probably gonna do some weird shit in your first cycle or two, so I would take everything with a grain of salt at this point. My first cycle after my withdrawal bleed was really weird – it was a full week longer than any cycles since then and I was so crampy and bloated starting about 2 weeks after I stopped taking the pill. I aws positive I was prego even though we weren’t even TTC yet lol. But I think it was just my body being like wtf where are my hormonez what have you done to me????

That being said you def can get pregnant immediately after stopping the pill, so I wouldn’t rule that out either! And if you aren’t charting there’s really no saying when you ovulated, so anything is possible!

Hmm maybe not the week after……I just meant it’s definitely possible to get pregnant in that first cycle. I think I did read about someone on here getting a BFP three weeks after they stopped taking the pill though so who knows?

I think what’s more common is that your first post BCP cycle will be notably longer than what your “normal” cycle length willl turn out to be. For many people, that first or second or even third cycle can be anovulatory, and for others O is just really delayed.

I have spotting near ovulation almost every month. Sometimes for multiple days, like to the point it’s like a fake period. No idea whether it’s normal, but I had it checked out (a long time ago) and everything seemed fine/healthy otherwise. Would be curious if it has fertility implications, but have no idea bc I’ve never TTC’ed.

I did have brown spotting during my ovulation. My Doctor said it’s normal.

I read it is a normal thing for many people, and some say it is even a good sign, of a healthy ovulation.
