How do you know if it is just spotting or a light period? I am trying to decide if I should count today as CD 1. I have a very light period as it is and it lasts only 2-3 days. I had spotting Friday/Saturday (only when I wiped). Then nothing until today (Monday) around noon. It was red and was evident when I used the bathroom and I had some on a panty liner. But that was it. No more cramps and no more bleeding.
Should I count it as AF? or spotting? (I need to know so I can start clomid again on CD3).

I think if you see RED, it’s considered AF. Brown would be spotting. Ladies?

@Wispy: if it were me, i’d be calling it spotting – but then you say you have a light period, so I don’t know, i’m sorry!! I tend to get what you are describing a day or two before full flow starts, and I mark it as spotting.
I don’t think I’m helping at all!!

If it’s lighter than usual, I say spotting.

I was so confused about this too! I have just been counting the first day of bright red as CD1, based on what the nurse at my RE’s office advised. If it’s significantly lighter than normal though, I’d probably call and ask your doctor.
