It’s getting down to the wire and I wasn’t able to find a green belt that fit all of my bridesmaids (either too big or too small – all bridesmaids are plus size – looked for months) so I thought maybe I could just spray paint the belts that came with their dresses. What is the best kind of spray paint to use?

I’d be worried about the paint damaging the belts. Is there an extra you can test out? Also, have you tried Etsy, Amazon or something similar?

@mahkittahkakes: i would be concerned that the paint might rub onto the dresses. what do the dresses look like? can you make a tie belt from fabric? i’m not sure what type of belt you have now and what you’re looking for.
can you post a pic of the dresses and belts?

it all depends on the material of the belts id say go with acrylic paints instead of spray paint as it usually bends better. we have used it on leather and faux leather (table cloth material) and never had a problem with it spliting or cracking.

@mahkittahkakes: What kind of material are the belts made out of? Can you dye them? If not, I think fabric paint with a sponge/foam brush would be best.
Can you post a picture of the belts?

Can you die them? Is try that before spray paint. It will probably flake off or rub off on the dresses.

You can get fabric paint additive for craft acrylic paint. It works really well on most fabrics. Buy it at the craft store in the section with the acrylic paints.
