I am commenting to follow also.

I am getting a spray tan for my wedding too. I was also worried about this but I did a trial run and loved how it turned out! I’d encourage you to do the same.. plus then you’ll know if it’s the shade you want. I also wore a white shirt for a majority of the day to see if it would come off on the shirt and it never did.

I have done many spray tans in the past….and I liked the way it looked. I would not do it for my wedding though as I found it comes off on clothes that rub against skin and it REALLY shows up on white. The other thing is you would have to do it the day before your wedding as it starts to come off(unevenly) after two days.

I did one as a trial for my bachelorette and then did it for my wedding and was very happy with the results. Make sure you go to someone who will airbrush you. It’s more expensive than going to a booth but you won’t have to worry at all about getting blotchy or streaky. The girl even did some extra coverage on my back where I had some tan lines from the sun. Totally worth it! As long as you follow their instructions for prep and after care you should be fine!

Oh, I forgot to mention I had no problem with the color rubbing off on clothes or anything.

I thought about it but ultimately decided that from experience spray tan and white dress do not mix :(. I rocked my naturally pale skin and it wasn’t half bad.

If you can catch some sun rays before the wedding I’d say that’s your best bet. Don’t skip the sunscreen.

I used Jergen’s Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer in the darkest shade to even out my shoulders/chest area. It looked really good and I was able to build it gradually, starting a couple weeks before the wedding. You can give that a try first. It’s pretty cheap!

I was nervous about this too, so I did a “trial run” and got an airbrush spray tan the day before my bachelorette party and wore that white dress all night long to see if anything rubbed off on it. My bachelorette dress was still perfect by the end of the night, so I took a chance with my wedding dress and it worked out great! Didn’t rub off AT ALL and I felt beautiful with a tan!

lexi1421:  so much is dependent on where you go. I would find a reputable place (in my area it’s $40-50/spray tan) that does the spray tan by hand, as opposed to a machine. Also, definitely do a test run. For my engagement pictures that were on a Wednesday night, I got my spray tan done Monday morning. For my Saturday wedding, I got my spray tan on Wednesday night. You don’t have to go super dark or look orange – the greatest perks in my eyes are instantly losing 10 pounds when you have a nice tan, and evening out skin tone all over. Best of luck!

I got a spray tan for my e-pics.  They haven’t been edited yet, but here’s a clip of me from the thumb:

(also, I was sprayed at 6:30pm the night before.. so it’s very fresh.  I was told by some people that sometimes you’re orange day 1, but I wasn’t.. at least I don’t think so).

I’d attach one showing more areas of body and/or higher res, but I don’t wanna upset the photographer by posting unedited work. Ask me again in a week or two after he’s got the final cut back.

I did one for a ball earlier this year and really liked it except for my feet! They were TERRIBLE! I even wore those weird sticky soles and they still were saturated with color.

It didn’t rub off and I had it for a good 3 weeks. It came off slowly and not in streaks.  It was some organic stuff since my friend was pregnant

I’m following this thread because I’m thinking about having a spray tan party two nights before th wedding. Specifically, it would be the St. Tropez spray tan. Anyone have experience getting that done?

I’ve been getting spray tans for quite a while–I am strawberry blonde and pretty fair, but the girl who does mine always does a very good job of making it not look orange or streaky!  They make me feel amazing, so I knew I wanted to get one before my big day.  I got mine done 2 nights prior to the wedding to make sure the top layer of bronzer would be fully washed off.  I am so happy I got one and do not regret it at all.  Yes, there is some tan that came off on the inside of my dress (I was dancing the night away and working up a sweat!) but nothing that anyone could ever see.  My dress had lace all over it, and nothing rubbed off under my arms/around my neck/etc.  I don’t have any pro pics back yet but here are a couple from friends!
