I have done spray tans before and love them. I had a really bad experience with the Hollywood Tan’s spray tan, but the Mystic tan worked like a charm. No streaks, not orangy, just a pretty bronzey color that lasted for about 4 days.

I guess it would have to depend on the type of spray tan…some look good, others do not.

I did a spray tan once and I LOVED it.  I’m normally ghastly pale and I do not tan easily.  The place I went to used a booth that I went into that misted me with the tanner and then they finished off my face with an airbrush.  All in all, it was a rather awkward experience because there’s people all up in your stuff LOL! But if you can get over that, it’s really worth it.  I didn’t look orange or streaky.  It was a gorgeous bronze that lasted for over a week.  I got so many compliments!

I would be sincerely scared of ending up looking like an oompa loompa. I’d rather be pale than orange…

I love spray tanning! Just please shave and exfoliate your legs in the morning! And apply the barrier cream to your hands and feet and in between your fingers and toes! I forgot that last part once and it was just awful. I scrubed my skin raw to get rid of the colour, but I learnt my lesson!

@MrsDrRose612:  Airbrush tanning is great, they really pay attention to detail, if you have an option just ask for the lighter tan color… they usually have different shades.  Thats where to start!!

I would call and ask what product they use.  Norvell is the best I’ve ever seen.  You can really custom blend your color so you don’t look like you just got back from a week in Jamaica, but have a nice glow.  It’s very convenient, but the barrier cream is important as well as not showering for at least 12 hours after.

Best of luck :o)

@MrsDrRose612:  What are instant tanning beds? I have used the stand up spray tan..Never an airbrush with someone actually spraying me. Is that what you mean? I’ve never had a problem with that type, except for what I mentioned above but that was my own fault.

The place by me has the mystic tan and I believe it’s just a booth you go into alone. I wouldn’t be comfortable having some person all up in my junk with an airbrush lol. I’ve had friends do it and it looked very natural, you couldn’t tell it was a fake tan; their only complaint was it smelled weird afterwards. This reminds me I need to go try it out!
