@AvantLaLettre: So Cute!!!! I love your bump πŸ™‚ haha. Isn’t it funny how like you see it growing but then just one day your like “holy crap!”

Im making lasagna tonight. I might create a meal post for those of us that cook at night but are soooooooo sick of the age old question “whats for dinner tonight” when I feel like not doing anything.

@heathaah: Thats so great that you got to see your little peanut again! They grow so much this early, and it has to be such a thrill to see them growing and developing.

Last night I vomited for the first time, which was actually better than the dry heaving, but had me newvous about heading back to work, so I started taking the diclectin. I worked today, and 2 of my observant co-workers figured out something was up. I was still nauseated even with the diclectin so I was snacking on soda grackers, I has one minor gagging episode, but the clincher was when we were x-raying another baby I put my patient down and hid behind a wall. I am normally the person who sticks around during x-rays, so it was pretty obvious (but I couldn’t stand the thought of Ziggy getting unnecessary x-rays.) So 2 out of 26 of my coworkers know, but they have swron silence, so I hope it can stay that way. It is so hard lying to people when they ask about how our fetility testing is going, but it is just for a few weeks.

@pinky44:  Did your cramping stop yet?

I almost enjoyed my cramps at first because they were my first sign that I was pregnant before I knew from a test.  But now I can’t wait for this part to be over.

Is there anything that can be done about the cramps?

Before I went on the BC pill I had really really bad period cramps.  I learned to reach for advil at first sign of those cramps to manage them. I was super afraid of getting those cramps again when I came off the pill, but luckily had none.  But now, here I am with a positive pregnancy test and those same kind of cramps are back.  They actually woke me up tonight; they seem worse at night and in the day I can hardly feel them.

I think I’m only 4 weeks 0 days pregnant; I’m hoping these cramps will subside sooner than 6 weeks (which I noticed many people told Bree72 was the time they’d stop).

@cvbee: You’re right to not take advil, but Tylenol is okay according to my doctor, I asked last month because I was getting awful headaches.

Ladies! I have the most wonderful update!

I had my second prenatal appointment yesterday, and I couldn’t sleep I was so excited because this is the appointment where I’d finally get to hear the heartbeat (I’m 14 weeks, and have had no U/S and they couldn’t pick up the heartbeat at 10wks cause it was too soon).

Sooo we did the normal stuff, check weight (I actually gained 2lbs which is really good because of how bad my MS has been!), blood pressure, all that – everything was good.

We got my labs back, my hemoglobin was right not, and the rest of the standard tests came back negative (I could have told you that though ;)), and my vit. D was low – which was surprising considering it’s summer, but she said it’s common for those in the midwest. So I have to take a vit. D supplement.

Then I told her my concern about being too big already, I feel like I’m so noticeably pregnant already, and most people at 14 weeks never were (at least not like this). So she measured me from pubic bone to top of the uterus and said I’m right on. You are supposed to be within 2cm of however many weeks gestation you are, yesterday I was 14+2, and measured at 15cm. πŸ™‚ She said my uterus is growing great, and she had me feel where the top was, it was so cool!

Then we got the heartbeat! I nearly started crying when I heard it, is is not the most beautiful sound in the world?! I finally feel like this is soooo real! I am so incredibly happy!!

And now we’re finally going to start telling people πŸ™‚ (still keeping it off fb though, til we get our U/S).

We had a great, strong heartbeat, about 150 πŸ™‚ my husband was with me too and he was so excited, it was so cute πŸ™‚

@miss-spunkin: Congratulations!! It is the best feeling in the world. So glad your appointment went so well

I had a first two nights ago too. I felt a kick I swear. We were laying in bed ready to go to sleep and I turned over really fast and felt a jab to my right ribs then shortly after that felt another  on my lower right side. It was crazy.

Has anyone else felt that being pregnant is so much harder than you thought?

Seeing people I knew who were pregnant, it looked so fun – just carefree and exciting. My mom never got sick really, so she loved being pregnant. I had never heard of anyone who hated it!

It really has kicked me to the curb, lol, I am so surprised how much I don’t love it so far haha.

I’ve been so sick, and so trying to eat what I should hasn’t been going well. My midwife told me at my appt. that I’m not eating enough and really need to focus on getting more protein (now in the 2nd trimester, our blood volumes nearly triple, and we need nearly 120 g protein a day to allow for increased blood!), so I spent hours last night putting together a meal plan that includes lots of protein (every breakfast has to have nuts or eggs, lunch has avocados, dinners is chicken, red meat or salmon/tilapia). It’s soo hard! I bought a protein shake mix, so I’ll be making smoothies with added protein as well.

I didn’t think that eating for baby would be so tough. And expensive, my grocery bill has definitely gone up! Eating enough (one article I read written by a chiropractor, recommends 2500 calories! I only ate 1500 pre-pregnancy, it’s really hard to eat that much!)

I’m also tired all the time, can’t stand for long periods of time, have headaches, have sciatica, etc etc lol

Anyone else surprised how hard it is? not trying to complain, it’s just so different than what I expected I guess.

@miss-spunkin: It’s definitley not the easiest… this pregnancy has been much harder on me than my first.. and I’m only 10wks along! =/ It’ll get better and it’ll get easier.. you’ll get your pregnancy hunger and it’ll be much easier to eat that much. lol

So.. today we came home from church and it’s 80 something degrees in our apt! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It’s blowing cool upstairs but almost nothing is coming out of the vent downstairs… Our office is closed till TUESDAY! =( Not too happy at the moment

@miss-spunkin: You look so cute! I can definitely relate to being a little down about how pregnancy feels. I am not even 6 weeks yet, MS has totally kicked my ass already, and the meds to help that make me tired, on top of the exhaustion of just being pregnant. It is a long weekend here, and all I seem to want to do is nap. It is a waste of a weekend for sure, but my motivation to do anything but eat and sleep is nil. I guess I should be happy that  the diclectin has taken care os the MS, so I feel good enough to eat whatever is offered, and I haven’t had any gagging/vomiting since I started it on fridy!

@miss-spunkin You look adorable!  I’m so jealous you have a cute little bump!  I’m at 13 weeks and 4 days and the MS has been kicking my butt so hard that I’m still about 3-4lbs thinner than I was pre-pregnancy.  I feel like everyone else in my family had such easy pregnancies and they’re all just shocked when I talk about how tired I am and how little I’m able to keep down/eat.  The meds my doctor gave me (zofran) help stop the vomitting but not the nausea so eating the way I’m supposed to (protein, fruits/veg/etc.) has been really hard.  Sigh, hopefully once I hit 14 weeks or so the damn nausea will subside!

Does anyone have any good recommendations for cute business clothes for pregnancy that aren’t super pricey?  The old navy stuff won’t really cut it for my work, but I don’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe at a pea in the pod.  I’ve been stalking the gap maternity section for sales so far, but other sources would be great!

@AvantLaLettre: I’m 16 weeks as of today! I am due on Feb. 19th.

The baby has been moving more and more everyday. It seems like my bump had another growth spurt. It seems like I grow over night. lol
