Hello, all
I have secured a wonderful wonderful videographer for $1,2k (a great package… 2 HD videographers, 3 HD cameras, no time limit, one-hour cinema-edited video).
We are paying for the wedding ourselves and are really strapped for cash.
The wedding highlight video would be around another $300. (We can’t make it ourselves as we are not getting the raw footage in the package).
Should I really make the highlight video a priority and try to save elsewhere?
How much “run” did you or your friends/fam get out of the highlight video?
Thanks for any comments 🙂

My fiance films weddings for a living, and honestly, it is not worth it to us. We won’t be having a highlight video of our own wedding day. While it can be a nice touch, and really encapsulate the day emotionally, at $300 it is cuttable, especially if you could put the money to better use.

If you are already getting a one hour cinema edited video, then I don’t think a highlight video is necessary if you need to sacrifice other aspects. If it’s within your reach though, it would be a nice addition!

I would say yes to the highlight video. Only because its great for those who weren’t able to make it to the wedding. Would they upload it online for you? We got a highlight video that all of our friends and family are able to watch, but our full video can only be seen by those who come over. If its something youd want to share then go with the highlights. http://vimeo.com/45679154 the highlight video is nice because it sums up the day 🙂 good luck!
