We’ve been doing a lot of venue searching over the last few weeks. Today we put a hold on Spring Valley Country Club in Sharon. Does anyone know anything about it? How is it? How is the food? I have only been able to find 1 review and it was from 2 years ago. Anything would be helpful.

- Wedding: Black Rock Country Club, Hingham Ma
We had a golf tournament and cocktail reception there for my job last year (which is the Chamber of Commerce). They were really nice to work with, the room was great and the food was pretty good (we only had passed hors d’oeuvres, though). We never worried about anything and the day went off without a hitch. We dealt with a woman named JoAnn – I believe she’s still there.

My fiance and I booked our wedding at Spring Valley only to find out three months later that they had “double booked” our wedding date. This all happened after receiving a contract and cashing our deposit. They claim it was due to a system error, but made no effort to correct it. Our only option was to find a new venue or change the month of our wedding because no other dates were available that month. The management team appeared to disregard the severity of this error and did nothing to assist us in locating another venue. It took over a month to get our deposit back and a refund for our save the dates that had already been ordered. After experiencing how poorly organized the management team is here, I’m actually very happy things did not work out. I would not recommend this venue to anyone in hopes to spare others the pain and agony we went through.

I’m getting married there in August and have had nothing but great service from them and the coordinator, JoAnn. She is very quick to respond to emails and any questions you have. They just did a lot of renovations and put in uplights that you can use for free. I’ve heard the food is great. This is actually the first negative review I have seen (and I did a TON of venue research). My fiance and I absolutely LOVE it there, I would highly recommend it, and doing some more research on it – don’t just go off a couple bad reviews. There are soo many great reveiw on Spring Valley and they definitely outweigh the bad. If you want more info, feel free to message me.
@FutureMrs2010 – I’m shocked you had such a badn experience with them – sorry to hear that.

I hosted a small bridal shower at spring valley and also attended a wedding with in the past year. I had superb service, the food was tailored to what I wanted and they were very flexable and nothing could have gone smoother with our coordinator Joann. She was always full of helpful information on florists and linen that I was looking to rent. We had a day event and didn’t use the uplights but at the wedding I went to the Uplights are what set the mood in the ballroom. The room was filled with magic. I would definately recomment this venue to other and already have. I hope to be able to attend another event there.
