We are in the spring – late May 2012 and we both LOVE purple, see we agree on lilac and cream with lavender accents.

Three colours are fine. What colours do you like and don’t like?

I have always wanted purple and green and our wedding, I think, is going to be the end of March. I’ve tried asking Fiance if he would like to add a third color, but he either doesn’t really answer me or gives me an answer that I’m not sure is a real one (like yesterday he said “yellow”..but I’m not sure if he was being totally serious lol)

@nandmwedding: You can do so much with pink.

Sorry, they’ve all migles into one. But the first one is aqua, pink and ivory. The second is aqua and pink The third is pink and lime, I love it, it’s so hot. And the last one is pink, aqua and purple.

Let your venue, formality, and personality guide you. Inside/outside? plants/wood? carpet/walls?

Generally more formal weddings have more subdued colors–either dark shades or soft muted colors. More informal weddings can get away with really bright colors, if you even like bright colors!

Ask your Fiance, does he absolutely not want pink? Does he have his heart set on a ton of white? Does he not care? lol

Are you going to do any sort of theme or just go with a color board? Do you love sailing? camping? reading? art? travel? let your interests and loves guide you.

Is there a specific flower that you really love that can get you on track? Sunflowers? Hydrangeas? Succulents? Anemones?  Flowers can be a great way to start your scheme, especially because if you pick colors first and then can’t find any flowers in the colors you’ve picked you’ll have to change things up.

Have you found a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress that you think is perfect and it only comes in 10 colors? Better pick one of those 🙂

Basically what I did was look around for awhile and collect pictures of things I really liked in various colors. I slowly found that I had more and more stuff that was bright red and more and more stuff in tiffany blue that I really loved. So my advice is, don’t search for color schemes! Search for individual stuff you love and look for colors in those things that stick out to you.

You can have as many colors as you want, I had 3, pink, chocolate brown, and gold. I chose a main color (brown) for the dresses since its pretty flattering on everyone and is easily able to be worn again, a flower color (pink) and all my decorations were pink or gold. Perhaps you could look up the meaning of colors as they relate to weddings.

this website will tell you about how the different colors you pick will affect the vibe of your wedding and the mood and emotions of your guests.

I wanted earthy, romantic, and antique, and I got just that with my colors.

@nandmwedding: Well, pink is definitely easy to find.

I think pink and green would work on a golf course. Just try to make your larger items pinks and creams and the details in greens. Like do pink Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses with cream and green bouquets.

This last one is a bit more baby pink than stargazer lily pink, but it has the green lawn with pink tablecloths and white chairs, which I think looks very cool.
