Hehehe I am going against the rules. I am using eggplant/silver in early spring. I am just going to lighten it with flowers in whites and pinks…All spring flowers..:) Your mother might be happy with that….

It’s your wedding. If you want those colors who cares what season it is!

I’m really going against the rules.  I am doing a Christmas theme in April with Red, Silver, and White as my colors!  Whatever you want to do you should do!

If this is causing huge stress, could you consider changing black into white? Or perhaps just drop black without adding a third colour? Then it becomes a little lighter and perhaps not so irritating to your mum.

Mine is in summer and I’m doing black, white, and fushia. The whole room is going to be very dark with black linens and chairs, but I dont care!! It’s what I’ve planned for years and I wanted a summer wedding, so who says I can’t do them together???

Girl, don’t worry about it. I had a pastel-colored wedding in the fall, and no one batted an eye. Go with what you like.

@girlymetalchick:  A friend of mine had those same colors at her summer wedding. It looked lovely.

Colors for wedding- I really do not understand the reasoning behind that.

I am also having my wedding in the spring and my colors are shades of red.

No one is going to notice :p they will notice how beautiful everything is though.

@girlymetalchick:   I see you are from Long Island, there are some local venues that would look amazing in dark purple, silver and black.

I’m using burgandy, gold and white in May. I’m not much better.
