@Kimy:  I didn’t have a super specific color scheme, but my bridesmaids wore blush, gray, and sage green (I let them pick out their own dresses and it just worked out that 2 girls chose dresses in each of those colors), and the decorations were mostly blush, ivory, and champagne. It was an outdoor wedding so there was already a lot of color from the trees and landscaping.

I’m having trouble posting photos now, so I’ll come back and post some later!

My girls are wearing long eggplant colored dresses for my April wedding!  Our flowers are pastel-ish though.  It’s your wedding.  You’re going to be the one reminiscing about it, so do things your way..!

@girlymetalchick:  Do whatever makes you happy! My Fiance is going to be a groomsman in a red and black wedding at the end of June. That’s really going against colors! Do whatever makes you happy.

I’m doing grape and silver, so I’m not very springy either even though my wedding is in April.

@girlymetalchick:  If you hate pastels, don’t use them.  I don’t think it’s silly to use dark colors in the spring.  I feel like most people kind of just do whatever they like for their weddings these days.  For example, I know there are plenty of traditions that my fiance and I are cutting out because we just don’t like them … No big deal.

I think this can sometimes be tricky when someone else is paying, but in the end, the wedding is about you and your fiance.

I was having such a hard time with the colors when I first started wedding planning. I too hate pastels with a passion and everyone (family) was demanding that you HAVE to have pastel colors with a spring wedding. I finally found a color I was in love with when I went bridesmaid dress shopping. The girls tried on the dresses in a coral color and we all fell in love.

Ha, my mother is the same way.  We’re getting married outdoors at an Italian villa overlooking Lake Michigan and a huge garden!  So its all very light and bright there.  Our colors though?  Black, charcoal gray, and accents of apple green!

Mom’s throwing a huge fit since I wanted the bridesmaids to be in black while the groomsmen would be in gray.. Now they’re all in gray and the flowers will be mostly white.  I’m tempted to get a black crinoline though.  😉

You should do what you want!
