Hello fellow brides,
I wanted to see if anyone has heard about the cancellation of all weddings at Springton Manor? It was the first place we looked at for our wedding & fell in love with it right away. We set the date & the contract was underway. We received a call yesterday that Kim, the woman in charge of coordinating events, was fired & they are no longer having weddings at Springton! We were also told that all weddings currently under contract have been cancelled!! My heart sunk when I heard the news, but I can only imagine the devastation that brides having their wedding this year must be feeling. Does anyone know any info about this? We are now scrambling trying to find that perfect outdoor place with the flexibility that Springton offered. Has anyone else heard of this nonsense??

I haven’t heard of it (I’m probably from a different country), but I remember my devastation upon hearing that a popular venue from around here (that I had my heart set on) stopped doing weddings. It sucks when you get all excited about something and it doesn’t end up working out =( At least with my venue we can still get photos done there, just nothing else.
I’m sorry you’ve got to deal with this too, and I’m sorry for all the couples that have had their weddings cancelled, possibly at such short notice – how stressful for them!

I don’t know about this specific venue, but I remember a couple years ago a very popular wedding venue in my area abruptly closed its doors right in the middle of prime wedding season, with some brides just getting a few weeks or even a few days notice. Apparently they didn’t even contact a lot of the brides/grooms, it just came out after some of them called and didn’t get an answer then went to the venue and there was a sign on the door saying they had closed. With it being wedding season, pretty much every venue was booked and a couple funeral homes offered their facilities for some of the weddings, which apparently some brides ended up doing (what else are you going to find free during wedding season on a few days notice?)

How is this not going to cause them to get their pants sued off?
